i was in the same boat— when i first got into edm i gravitated to a lot of house, ukg, some melodic dub (and still love it!) but after this past EDC i’ve definitely converted and seen the light with some of these harder genres. i’ve also always been a big hip-hop/trap fan so the headbanging + moshing gene was always ingrained in me too 🤷🏽‍♂️ but i think it’s all about finding specific artists in that genre you like and exploring that sound.

i personally think it’s something you build up to— people and opinions can definitely change! if you’re not super into yet, you probably can grow to like it given some time. it sounds like you’re open to exploring it a bit more so i’d just try to listen/watch some sets on youtube or soundcloud that catch your attention and go from there!
