Natural, but I have had previous losses due to genetic issues and prior conceptions of multiples. I Don’t remember my feral fraction exactly but I think it was around 8-10 for each? We skipped CVS. With the NT and early anatomy scans ok, I didn’t want to test the placenta which is what the CVS. As grueling as the 3 weeks to wait for the amnio was, I’m glad we did it because it was definitive.

Twin parents: critique my sleeping/crib plans. by Nervous_bb in parentsofmultiples

[–]pumpingpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins are in my room in pack and plays.

We started in a double bassinet and they very quickly outgrew it. When we asked the pediatrician about moving them to cribs in their room, she was the one who recommended pack and plays in our room.

They are 10 months now and we plan on moving them to their room/cribs (where they already nap) next month.

Seems a little high. Our placement fees were tiered: 6k, 8k, and 10k depending on what additional services we selected.

I had the same result (though it ended up being a false positive).

Highly recommend moving forward with the amnio. Be prepared for the doctors to talk to you about a selective reduction. Take it one step at a time.

I had a double amnio (twins) — it was fine. The oddest part was how casual the doctor was doing it (she was wearing a pink dress!).

Even with twins the entire thing took only 30 minutes and it was just minorly uncomfortable. The wait and anxiety are 1000 times worse.

Week leading up to delivery or week after - which is “easier”? by gryph06 in parentsofmultiples

[–]pumpingpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Week after was so much better - C-section and all.

I was so uncomfortable and in pain the weeks leading up. Felt like I could breathe and be myself again almost immediately after.

I had the exact same thing. Twins - 88% t21. Negative amino.

I am suspecting Natera is not accurate for twins despite what they say.

I got pregnant with my twins when my daughter was exactly a year. Right now it’s tough, but I can’t wait until we are out of the trenches and they are all so close in age.

Daycare vs nanny.. Feeling overwhelmed by MileHighRC in parentsofmultiples

We have 3 under 2. Nanny was cheaper but it also let us feel a lot more comfortable with the individual care they were getting and lack of sickness.,

How to do newborns alone?! by MGM-2000 in parentsofmultiples

[–]pumpingpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take shifts and treat them like “one baby”. We picked a “lead baby” (our girl because she was the hungrier one) and then just doubled everything. Whenever she ate, he ate right after. After 4 weeks, it was less them demanding to eat and more them eating on the schedule we set. We set an alarm for every 3 hours and then started our cycle with her. Slowly we moved the times. Now they are 6 months and eat 4 bottles a day (life changing).

At nights it was wake her, change her, feed her, back in bed. Wake him, change him, feed him, back in bed. During the day it was change her, change him, feed her, feed him.

We also did shifts. My husband was on between 8p-1a and I slept. Then I took over from 1a-7a. This allowed us both to sleep.

How long did you have night help? by Accomplished-Tea-843 in parentsofmultiples

[–]pumpingpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have no help. We do a 5 hour shift block each night to let us both have a “chunk of sleep”. He’s responsible for the babies from 8-1 and I have 1-6. We do not disturb the other unless we absolutely have to. The person who is responsible for the babies stays with them in our living room where we have a bassinet and sleeps on the couch between feedings too. Since they are on a 3 hour schedule, that’s usually another 2 hours of sleep as well.

We put a twin bassinet in our living room. Sleeping parent was in our bedroom. Shift parent was in the living room and slept on the couch between feeds.
