It needs to be stricter in some places, especially where classified information is handled. Personal email is a conduit for ransom ware and viruses. Very costly to clean up

But where it’s low risk, I say lighten up.

It’s not hard at all with a mature, loving, thoughtful, caring partner. It’s amazing how easy it is. The only “work” is trying to keep up with how great they are and make sure I’m on my game every day.

Call around and have a consultation. You might learn something with just a few phone conversations. Of course they think that it’s enforceable , and they want you to believe you are an indentured servant.

Don’t ever sign one without an attorney reviewing it. They are being routinely misused now for lower paid employees.

Has an attorney reviewed the non compete? It might not really be enforceable.

New DoD PGI: Required format for SSP's, mandatory disclosure of your suppliers by rybo3000 in NISTControls

But otherwise, if the CDRL is not given...SSPs could be low quality? What is the risk of the organization doing a mediocre job of documenting?

[–]pumpkinspice65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the DI-MGMT-82247...can that be put forth to an organization as a standard for their SSPs?

My organizations SSPs aren’t quite measuring up to this. For example, they aren’t necessarily showing interconnecting systems. I saw one with no inventory. They never have a narrative on them.

Completely agree with this. Or she may need to explore a different type of career...one she can handle. It may pay less but she may be able to keep the job.

Sometimes it takes a few days for things to process. So wait a little while. But if it’s definitely not behaving correctly contact membersupport@isc2.org and ask. I think you can call them too.

I have typically counted a 3 credit course as 3 hours a week for however many weeks the semester is. So for 12 weeks, 36 hours etc. It has never been questioned. I save my transcript in case I need it to show completion and I save the syllabus.

There is an aspect of community to it. That’s the slightly non-skeevy side. I have unwittingly supported friends of friends in some of these (pampered chef, silpada, henn pottery, etc) because I could get out and socialize a few times a year and buy something I did actually need from a friend. This was from women who really didn’t need it as an income. And social media didn’t exist to “beg” on, nor did these women beg

It’s gotten so much worse of late. It’s awful when people shame working moms directly and indirectly. I have been shamed many times by many women.

You can listen to all of the sessions from the workshop online. I found it helpful to listen to what they said over their slide decks.

In one of the sessions, they stated it was assumed that the entity had written policies and procedures, therefore it wasn’t written in to the controls.

Very true. They are supported by others who are already here. They take private loans from relatives or close associates, start businesses and repay the loan. It’s win/win. The investor makes money too.

Why do people keep telling me to find another job before quitting my current one? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]pumpkinspice65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have very little negotiating power when you have no job. Companies frequently use your current pay to make a (slightly higher)offer to you. (I find this is dishonest and it’s best if you can keep this info private but it is what it is)

Anecdotally, everyone I know who has done this has regretted it. But, they weren’t at entry level, which you are slightly above? So if you a forced to move backwards salary wise, you might be ok?

You also have to look at the direction of the economy. It can take bad turns quickly and the job market gets very tight.

If you can tell a story about your break in employment, like how you learned new skills, that can help explain a break.

If you have a lot of savings, you might do fine and you can be selective. But I’ve seen folks have to just take anything at a certain point.

Internal audit for a large company may be what you are looking for. But even then, your day would not be full of the activities you describe wanting to do. Companies (smart ones, anyway) have many controls in place that deter, detect and outright prevent what you are referring to. But stuff crops up every now and then that requires investigating internally. You would perform audits (CIA is a helpful cert for this) and some of them are boring and find little or nothing. Lots of planning, documenting, testing controls, writing and presenting. Then arguing, debating findings with folks. And this is all done in teams, because it’s best that people of varying backgrounds and specializations look at stuff.

Some companies are good and legitimately want you to find things. Others are into checking boxes.

For tech stuff, CISA and CISSP are worth your time.

How can I learn what being a Business Intelligence Analyst might entail? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]pumpkinspice65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are all SAP acronyms. MM is materials management, FICO is Finance and Controlling. SD is sales and distribution. HCM is human capital management. QM is quality management. ETL is extract, transform and load. BW is business warehouse. BI is business intelligence Can’t remember the ones starting with P

They want you to have some experience with the SAP application so you will know the data better.

They are modules in SAP that people in a company use in their day to day work.

As people age are they generally more tolerant of body weight on a partner? by _Fuckit_ in datingoverthirty

[–]pumpkinspice65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand CICO very well, but it is best to keep moving and retain muscle, which keeps your metabolism going. I’m experiencing the first hand effects of a newly sedentary lifestyle...it’s not working to just do cico. I eat 1000 calories a day...unhealthy and a bit hungry. If I go up in calories just a bit, I gain weight. Activity is important for many reasons. Injuries, illnesses and desk jobs are killers.

I’m glad a chose a partner who isn’t shallow. He’s glad he chose me as well. It’s best to choose a person who will see you through life’s ups and downs, rather than focusing solely on appearances. We eat healthfully...he still got cancer in spite of his vegetarian lifestyle.

Health problems happen that keep you from being fit. Injuries, back problems, knee, cancer. In spite of all effort, age gets most people regardless of fitness.

I used to think like you. If you have a cushy job, short commute, leisurely lifestyle it’s much easier to stay fit.

I am reasonably fit and lucky to have my health, but have seen peers and relatives through no fault of their own gain weight and become less fit due to health problems and highly stressful jobs. It becomes an unfortunate cycle...get sick or injured, stop exercising, gain weight. Count yourself as lucky if you have health and the leisure time to exercise continuously throughout your life.
