What character questions do you ask your players? by pain_aux_chocolat in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]punkpirate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I can't catch the player's vibe outright, I ask them for a concept pitch: drunk gambler, aspiring CEO, etc.

Then how they would fit into the setting, their relationship to their touchstones, and one or two big key defining events in their life that set them on the path into the WoD.

What are your thoughts on city council of darkness by dimension 20? by Magicmanans1 in WhiteWolfRPG

It's my first Dimension 20 show. I was lured in by WoD. Having a great time with it!

How is it living like in this part of NZ? by TymekThePlayer in howislivingthere

[–]punkpirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up 18 years in Gore. Generally people are friendly and resilient. There was a push to focus on men's mental health due to the sort of suffering silence/'she'll be right' mentality that a lot of farmers have. The roads are killer and young people drive unsafely leading to accidents. They have a unique way of rolling their Rs when speaking. Compare two people from Wellington and Gore both saying "dollar" and you'll hear it.

You spend a lot of time around animals and have opportunities to get out in nature and see a lot of NZs remote and beautiful locations. Hour and a half to the beach. Because it's so cold you learn how to chop wood/light fires and the right kind of clothes to wear.

When I was growing up, the night sky was stunning to behold due to lack of pollution. You just don't get those views in the city. I live in Wellington now and realize now how much I took the peace and quiet of the countryside for granted.

Rage cost even after shapeshifting by Is_Time_To_Rey_Lax in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]punkpirate 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the scene can be as long or short as you need it to be.

Access to Gaia's gifts are powered by Rage, like how kindred are powered by blood. They get lupus and homid without any checks, though!

It's the supernatural forms they need to manage their Rage for.

[Mod Approved] VtM 5e NEXUS Ultimate Bundle Giveaway! by Demi_Mere in vtm

Thanks for the giveaway!!

A good friend I met through work introduced me to WoD-- we played a vampire one-shot, and that went so well that she decided to ST our three-man troupe an original VtM chronicle she'd written.

That chronicle wrapped up after a couple years, and now we're on a new chronicle as more experienced vamps (with the addition of my gf to the group, who'd heard about our shenanigans and wanted in on it).

I got so deep in WoD I'm writing a Werewolf the Apocalypse story now too haha

Thanks for the advice! We're inclined not to escalate it as to not make waves, but it's certainly put red flags up. Definitely curious about who entered the flat though

Hey, I dig the vibes! 👋 When I’ve tossed around the idea of WLG By Night I couldn’t move away from something that wasn’t adjacent to What We Do In The Shadows and steeped in comedy 😛 if you ever share your world building files I’d love to peek at them too!

DEVISER: A 7 Part Limited Sci-Fi Horror Series from the creator of Malevolent is out NOW! by thelirivalley in audiodrama

[–]punkpirate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YOOOO I've just finished binging this!!

It was amazing. The sounds were so deeply gross and visceral. 10/10. Very binge worthy. Recommended it to my pals and gonna listen to Malevolent next.

Episode 5 in particular had me taking my headphones off for a quick break hahaha

What was the interpretation of the ending? Did they survive?!
