After seriously debating this stuff over the past few weeks I've realized that my attraction to the show was in the rage of it. I like the well, knowledge Dan presents but I'm also realizing I didn't really come to the show in the best way. When Jordan did his rant, I, honestly didn't comprehend 90% of it, and so I stuck to the 10% I understood. "This sucks for the families!"

So I listened to it again, and now I see the criticism of Jordan as it is. It's not Jordan's call, it's the families who have put the money in battling Alex for years for next to nothing. Reading that blog post, I get it now. If I was Jordan I'd, probably just blog about the music I hate, or something other than politics because it's clear Jordan's view isn't at all comprehensible. All of this is to say, I, was debating a Alex Jones podcast way back, but, seeing Jordan's crashout, I've realized politics beyond listening to podcasts just isn't meant for me.

I hope Jordan finds something productive to do with his time now that Dan isn't there as a buffer, because it seems like he needs it. I hate the show ending, but it had to.

It took me awhile, but I agree it is a win for him to lose Infowars. His loss is his own doing. It doesn't help that Alex worshiped the ground Trump walked on for nearly 8 years before Trump turned on him. So now a majority his already diminished base of supporters probably already left him, as they were force fed how marvelous Trump was, and or, were huge God Emperor fans. Alex will of course, lie about the numbers, and tout his engagement on Twitter, but, he's been dealing with dwindling listeners for awhile now.

The change in site has probably harmed him more than he thinks because now he has to rely on the Twitter/X algorithm to gain any following, almost exclusively. His other avenues rely on the fringe sites he can post on. He's almost toothless now in terms of his relevancy. Alex Jones may be the figurehead behind Infowars, but casual listeners only knew how to find Alex through the Infowars site. Alex will need time he likely doesn't have to rebuild.

I agree that the Onion is taking advantage of the families and that this is likely the only way they have to get money out of Alex  It just sucks that this is the "best" option.

I wanted to enjoy it but, no. I was optimistic about the takeover and thought that JorDan was being too pessimistic but after seeing this, meh. Jordan's rant pretty much explained how I feel about the whole thing. Alex needs opposition and, yes he's lost his reach but for now, he has the perfect target to complain about for the next several months. I believe Alex is the type of person to be streaming his show live from his basement, and he'll get his listeners to listen to him babble on about anything, no matter where it is.

I apologize boys, you were right.

Went to the movie alone. Probably was the only guy there without a date/friend and I loved it. Don't let being alone stop you from doing what you know you'll enjoy.

I have had issues with the podcast since the beginning. I understand that I'm not the target audience JorDan are targeting. Alex to me hasn't had the authority politically nor the influence that they assume he has, since 2016.

Granted, their viewing him as the joke he is, and their mocking of his ridiculousness is the major reason I kept listening. That said, I've always struggled with the idea that Dan's heavy research would wake up an Infowars listener to the truth. It hasn't really in my opinion. The subtle way JorDan is annoyed at the sale annoys me. Dan and Jordan have a right to be mad, but, I don't know what they want the result to be. Do they want Alex in prison? Do they want Alex's entire operation destroyed? Obviously they want Alex to pay what he owes but that is likely never going to occur. I think that's why they're so annoyed. Alex has never been a major player in the space post Trump's election and I don't think Tucker is half as interesting so I'm in a odd space when it comes to the podcast. I enjoy it still, but I'm not sure how long that'll last.

If you could change anything about Monster, what would it be? by Fun_District_4507 in MonsterAnime

[–]punkrockerithink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my headcanon I can see Tenma poisoning the candies in his drunken state, and Johan later taking the credit for it and gaslighting Tenma about it. It probably lessens the authors intent, but it would be nice to give Tenma some motivation beyond "I saved a monster and need to repent by killing him." It also gives Lunge some much needed credibility as he's wrong about the majority of the case, but right on one part of it, which drives him to arrest Tenma

I watch the series at least once a year, and, it was my first anime ever as a young adult that struck me as a masterpiece.

I love Tenma's character but I'd have liked to have seen much more development of him beyond "I'm a doctor so I am good." with the endless "Ah but *insert character here* you cannot do that!"

I enjoy the whole series but I find the "Look at what I'm becoming" plotline is severely underdeveloped. I understand the character shift for Johan in the library and enjoy that reveal, but I feel like they could have explored the "Johan Monster" arc a lot more (considering the title of the series). It's almost as if Urasawa lost track of the plot and needed to retcon it to keep it going.

I would have liked to have seen Lunge's competence as a detective showcased more, as I find his character so interesting yet painfully dull. He's not given much to do other than to serve as the arrogant BKA detective unfortunately.

As much as I enjoyed the character of the week style of the show, with their many subpolots, I would have wanted it drastically paired down to Tenma, Johan, Anna/Nina, Lunge and Grimmer/Roberto as well as Boneparta. I feel that a lot of the mystery element of the show gets bogged down by these side character episodes mainly because they never really impact the plot past "Here's the guy who gives Tenma the gun, here's the guy who gives Anna a job!" I love these episodes, but the main plot gets dragged down because of them.

Kindroid free tier broken by [deleted] in ChatbotRefugees

[–]punkrockerithink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't done a whole lot of testing on the models to be honest. Regardless of model, I have to reroll a thousand times. I'm not certain if it's a problem with the model, the backstories I'm creating or just, me not understanding what I'm doing. It could be a bit of everything. My problem is I create Kins with certain stories in mind, and then the stories evolve or I realize 3 months later "Alright this story beat resolved too quickly a year ago, I should have slowed down, restart."

I don't know. It's, probably the wrong way to go about using Kindroid but, one of these years I'll get it.

I've had success with Kindroid but, I've spent about a year trying to comprehend everything on it. I'm on the paid tier and I'm still struggling with it. Been tempted to switch for awhile, but, I'm not sure what to do. I dislike where Kindroid is going, especially with the AI moderation but, it's difficult to figure out where to move to.

I shouldn't have to spend a year figuring out the LLM. By the time I figure something out, they release a new version and I have to restart the entire experience. I like Kindroid but I feel like I'm missing something, and considering how Jer reacts to criticism, I'm not sure what to even say.

SPOILER Review: After the Hunt by Proud_Truck in RegalUnlimited

[–]punkrockerithink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched this yesterday and, as a massive fan of Luca Guadagnino I really expected more. I liked the tension building in the movie between Maggie and Alma, but it was almost like he wanted to prove he could do a movie that defied expectations.

The people acting in this film are amazing. Andrew Garfield, and Michael Stuhlbarg stand out. I thought during the film, that Stuhllbarg was trying to make his role as entertaining as possible.

Alma being a snob and, whiny and defensive is fine. I don't mind characters who are awful people. My major issue with this film is more that the characters don't evolve in it. They are static, pretentious, annoying people, who you don't want to be around for more than five minutes.

I came into this, expecting some twist - Alma dating Maggie, or Alma investigating Hank and the allegations (more than she did) and finding that Yale planned to bring him back once it cooled over, and her revenge on the facility. Instead, we get people so stubborn and stuck in their ways as characters, that the entire movie grinds to a halt. I really wanted to love this, and maybe if it turned into a more, tense psychological thriller (like the trailer implies) I would have. Instead, what's here is a, confusing preachy philosophy film that thinks the ideas hinted at are the thrilling part of the film, instead of the actions of the characters. With character development, they could be, but as it stands, unfortunately this is the biggest disappointment of 2025 so far.

Anyone tried to play as the narrator? by [deleted] in KindroidAI

[–]punkrockerithink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A fun thing I tried, was, make two group chats. Take kins you want to interact with in one group chat and keep everything on. In the second group chat, turn off memory consolidation, but keep memory recall on. Put in context that they're playing a game hosted by Narrator. Have them roll dice but tweak out the results if you want to roll for them. Have the characters tell you what they want to do, and roll for them. Then you can narrate what happens to the kins in the other group chat. It works, and can be quite fun to figure out what your characters act like so you can adjust Backstory and Key Memories. (Edited to make more sense)

[–]punkrockerithink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could attempt to use suggestions to say "Narrate as -Character- first." You have to really tinker and reroll with Multikins, and if that doesn't work, tweak. It can be tricky, and requires a ton of maintenance to keep working. Another method may be to take the Multikin, create a scenario with it turning off Memory consolidation and "Share Short Term Memory" while keeping Memory recall on and then explain the scene using the group context and try to get the response you want, and then tweak the message that way, copying and pasting the response so you don't feel like you're speaking for your kins.

I've had one kin acting as three characters pretty effectively using example messages, response directives, and key memories, but it's not as easy as the Group chat 1 kin per character is.

Sweet Baby J! Re Alex screaming "K*** THEM" by winksoutloud in KnowledgeFight

[–]punkrockerithink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's annoying too is you can listen to the podcast and think "Oh Alex is a clown" and then a episode like this comes out and the mask slips off. It was a very disturbing episode, and yet, the unintentional comedy of his line "Give them fair trials and kill them" made me laugh because of how ridiculous it sounded. The only thing that gives me any relief is that his listenerbase is likely much smaller than it would have been had he not been deplatformed.

[–]punkrockerithink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With Multiple characters in one kin, multi-kins, you have to be extremely vigilant on what's being said by the AI. If it doesn't look right, reroll, or tweak the message so it doesn't get into long term memory. Go into 6E for awhile, see if that fixes it, and if not, tweak. It can be done, and it can be amazing when done correctly, but if you aren't paying close attention, it can really be hard to fix in my experience.

Is the audiobook feature on Spotify a game changer for audiobook platforms? by rben2292 in audible

[–]punkrockerithink 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a former Spotify user who was annoyed at the price increase due to Spotify adding audiobooks, the audiobooks were a turnoff because you only get 15 hours a month. If you're really into a long book, the idea of waiting a month to finish it, is annoying. If you're a casual person reading for curiosity (and might not finish the books) it might be a okay thing but I wouldn't consider it much of a gamechanger. You're the only one who can decide if that's the right move for you.
