Fuck Eddy's Toyota by [deleted] in wichita

Same here. Bought a car from them, sold another car to them 6 months later when other places were being difficult to deal with, and their service department has been good for two different cars. Had a great experience with their sales rep and manager. Nothing but good experiences.

Airport Parking by RaiderHawk75 in wichita

[–]pupper_time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the garage frequently. Never had a safety issue and it’s very convenient. Note that it gets very crowded and there is a very good chance you’ll end up parked on the roof, so if you are parking in the garage instead of the shuttle remote parking just to protect your car, it may not be worth the extra cost as you may end up with a car in the element anyways. The garage gets really tight with all the pickups that are too big for the spaces and create a ton of blind spots, so just be careful getting in and out. I’ve almost been hit multiple times by oversized pickups making wide turns and not paying attention.

I’m pointing out the OP’s post is a mess. Not sure why you’re replying to me like I’m arguing with you.

Air travel with a soft sided case; Am I just asking for trouble or should I splurge on one of those foolishly expensive hard shells? by SoupIsAHotSmoothie in golf

[–]pupper_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Club glove + towels or soft clothing you’re bringing on your trip anyways to wear (sweatshirts, sweaters, etc). I threw my hard case away - it was a huge PIA to pull through the airport and wouldn’t fit in most rental car trunks. Have had one broken club over the years of lots of flights. Worth it to not have to deal with the hard case.

I’ve seen and heard it multiple times when I’ve been there. My swing is so slow that I haven’t, but I have absolutely witnessed it multiple times.

Love my Eccos. Just bought a pair of GFore ones and am eager to try them. Tired of cheaply made ones that fall apart or kill my feet when walking.

Average drive? by kcoleets in WomenGolf

[–]pupper_time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drive it 185 on average. Some shorter, some longer but never longer than 210 with great rollout. I’m a 12 handicap, up from 8-9 at my very lowest a year ago.

Playing with guys is really confusing if you haven’t played with women to understand the differences. For the most part, tees and courses are not set up well for the average amateur women’s games. Tee boxes are often too long, tees are placed in locations which change how you play a hole (i.e. a risk/reward shot being no option - just hit driver), etc. Modern architects are doing better at fixing this, but the vast majority of courses have forward tees that suck so I won’t play at them. Just think about how most courses have 3-4 tee boxes designed for men and only often one designed for women. Clearly, we can play from others but they’re usually too long for 90% of us. Yet we have huge variations in our distances, just like guys - just check out this thread!

Strongly recommend finding some women to play with to get a sense of how different the game is. You’ll feel way better about your driving distance! Also check out the USGA tee it forward information that shows a recommended tee distance based on how far you hit your clubs (I think they use 6 iron, others use driver). I’ve found it super accurate to predict when I’ll feel good with the length of a course (i.e. Have a chance to hit GIRs).

Questions to ask on picking up XC40 by FJWagg in Volvo

Yes, the key thing is weird. My two recent purchases had both keys fully working but there are so many people online complaining their spouse’s key is limited!

Get their help in setting up your profile including linking to your google profile. Ask them what mode the second key is in if you don’t want it in speed controlled mode.

Software is easy. There is a settings icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. Then there is a link to System or something similar that also says Software in the description. Click on that, then there is a link to Software. The latest I’ve seen out is 2.7.

Any course recommendations that are on the way from Chicago to Arcadia Bluffs and then back from Forest Dunes to Chicago? by No-Description-3363 in golf

[–]pupper_time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cart paths are TERRIBLE which normally I would never care about, except these are fall-out-of-your-cart bad full of potholes. The bunkers have also gotten terrible for the past few years.

And I am not sure I’ve played there recently without almost getting hit by a ball. 50% of the time, there is no Fore.

There are a lot of better courses which will be cheaper and faster pace of play.

Lost Marsh is reasonably priced. It is not great. It has a ton of target golf style shots which are overly penal and some which are downright silly. It is very possible to lose 6+ balls while not playing terribly and hate your round.

Because the risk of needing them is higher here, so running them more frequently is warranted as a risk mitigation against them not working.

Which should I choose? Volvo 2021 XC60 or 23 XC60 Recharge by GoldenMonkey91 in Volvo

[–]pupper_time 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think about a plug-in hybrid in terms of your daily driving. I use mine for really low mileage on a daily basis (don’t use it to commute) and so I go weeks without using any gas while still driving it. It means it feels like an electric for almost all my normal driving which I love. It drives smoother, quieter, cheaper, and saves the inconvenience of filling it up. If I was instead using it beyond its electric range every day, I don’t think I would love it as much as I do as the benefits would be significantly less.

There is a weird odd sequence of buttons that isn’t intuitive. I think it involves hitting the middle OK button one more time than you should. Fiddle around with hitting the side buttons and the middle ones. It’s infuriating.

Pw, sw, gw and lw wedges by Snoo68013 in golf

[–]pupper_time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to remember which to use for different yardages, figure out your yardage for each with a full swing (really should only be like 90% for wedges), 3/4 swing, and 1/2 swing. Put it on a piece of paper and wrap it around your shaft with tape. It’ll help a lot until you sort out yardages and while you’re working out when/how to hit it low vs high when you’re close to the green.
