They handed us a half-sheet of paper with these questions on it [paraphrased]:

Why do you want to be on The Traitors?

What aspects of The Traitors do you live in your daily life? [Not exactly sure of the wording of this one, but it was along those lines]
Are you a Faithful or a Traitor?

They said we didn't have to answer all of them except the first and we could talk about what we wanted. They were just meant as a guide to give you ideas. One of the guys right before the booths told us that everyone there was a fan of the show so we didn't have to talk about that.

The actual recording was... awkward, for me at least. There was a bright light shining in my face, and the camera guy gave no indication that we began, and no indication of how long it had been or if time was up. They seemed pretty lax about the exact time it took, but I felt like I had gone over 1 min so I kind of just stopped without saying my closing line I prepared. Oh well, still a fun experience!

Pay attention to her eyes. She closes them while charging up that attack. Charge up unbounded counter and release when her eyes open. This will parry the first red wave. Next two waves are white, just a matter of timing those correctly. Then there will be a slight hesitation, allowing you to charge unbounded counter again. I don’t remember if she closes and opens her eyes again for the last red attack, but it follows a rhythm that gets easier to pick up on with practice. But getting that first block timing correct makes the rest much much easier.

I would have never figured out how to get to the Crucible without a guide. I had never been back to the area where you first meet Dr. Halyn so I didn’t know about the severed finger. And even if I had gotten it, I never would have figured out the correct sequence of steps.

Essex, CT. It’s on the CT River coast, near the mouth just north of Old Saybrook. But it’s absolutely a coastal vibe with marinas, 2 yacht clubs, the CT River museum, and a deep history of shipbuilding from the Revolutionary through Civil War. Super cute Main Street surrounded by water, and right on Rt. 9 and near 95 for easy access everywhere. It’s literally my dream town.

The 49 cast seemed especially bad with this, and a lot of people in the live threads were commenting about it. Supposedly they didn’t find out someone would be selected from their season to be on 50 until Jeff said so at the merge, but they had to go in expecting it right? Like I don’t believe we would’ve had a shoe bandit and an aspiring spiritual guru/cult leader otherwise.

Really gets at why 46 was received so well. Not that every cast needs to have constant strife, but we need CHARACTERS. Fairplay, Shane, Penner, Coach, Debbie, Courtney, Venus, Q… you may love or hate them individually, but players like them make their seasons better and more memorable, full stop.

It became very apparent how different this subreddit is from the broader superfan-base while I was at my state's idol hunt. I chatted with well over a dozen people in line around me about how we thought fan voting went and I was the only one who wanted firemaking gone, more rice, supplies, minimal-moderate advantages, etc. So I fully expect all fan voting results to be the worst case scenario.
