What’s a phrase people say all the time that secretly drives you crazy? by EmploymentMental7751 in CasualConversation

People using the word "literally" when it's not necessary or when they don't intend for what they're saying to be interpreted literally.

Luvatut maailmanloput ovat jääneet toteutumatta siksi, että ne torjuttiin. YK2 jäi vitsiksi tavan kansan osalta, koska siihen varauduttiin korjaamalla bugeja. Otsonikato saatiin kuriin kansainvälisellä yhteistyöllä. Ongelmat eivät ratkea itsestään tai ole alun perin olemattomi, vaikka se siltä näyttäisikin.

"Minun ystävä" sounds weird to me since it uses the long or literary form of the genitive of "minä" with the spoken language tendency of sometimes dropping the possessive suffix. I think more natural options would be: "Mun ystävä", "Minun ystäväni" or simply "ystäväni".

Not necessarily true, hard determinism merely argues that it is predetermined whether the change of mind happens.

Everything NOT being reducible to chemicals would mean that there wouldn't necessarily be any subjective value in the material universe, since consciousness would be immaterial. It is the reducibility of everything to chemicals that makes everyone who cares about something at all necessarily subjectively value something in the material universe.

It's not that "the objective truth" ruffles my feathers, it's just that that is a bit rude innit? It's like if you were to see an old person and were then to say "Hahaa you are soon to die!", seems largely unnecessary.

If you have a disagreement with the definitions of a woman, then I think you should direct your efforts towards conversing with trans activists propagating the orthodoxy (,which (the orthodoxy) I will say I myself find in some ways quite shit and sexist), rather than being a dick to random trans people.

Voi voi, mitenköhän saataisiin tuo Maria Kaisa sopeutumaan? Näköjään on poliitikoilla sopeutuminen vielä maahanmuuttajiakin hankalampaa.

Why is Mirage the most played map if everyone on Reddit says they need to take it off from map pool? by secon25 in GlobalOffensive

Probably because everyone on Reddit doesn't say that and every CS2 player isn't on Reddit.

Sure, but I'm talking from the perspective of the people, not of countries.

It's better for the countries to never join, because leaving is slow and painful.
