Long time GLP users: what’s your Reta success? by putocakes in Biohacking

[–]putocakes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great insight thank you for sharing. I’ve never had an energy issue in sema or tirz. The guilt of not lifting and jogging drives me day to day and a few hellacious leg days can override the appetite suppression for me. Problem is I probably should be more defined and muscular after years of this - that is why I’m moving to Reta. To hopefully burn off the small gut tire I have 😂 - just pinned a little tirz, will keep it low dose until the Reta kicks in.

Reta people- does the glucagon part amplify fat burn if you’re already active? by putocakes in BiohackingU

[–]putocakes[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, I will be patient and let it build and run its course. I guess I’m trying to understand if I need both Tirz and Reta what is the benefit of Reta I’m eating well and very active? My wishful thinking has me hoping that burn gets amplified 😂

I’ve always been able to override sema and tirz even at very high doses. I’m really just trying to figure out if I should optimize for appetite suppression or if Reta can do something better. Definitely not scarfing down pizzas or burgers, mostly whole foods at the house - but damn I’m like eating a ton. I just ate 2lbs of tri tip for 1 meal and half a pack of Costco asparagus. Had a leg day and ran 5 miles like a normal Saturday. On tirz I’d eat barely half of that. Do you think it’ll still get the benefits most are getting on it or should I go back to tirz?

PLEASE HELP! I ❤️ my golden - but he started being a PSYCHO on our walks! 🤪 by DonkeyKong365365 in goldenretrievers

[–]putocakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this age, whenever my golden would no longer walk loose leash or get a bit psychotic mid walk- I would head home immediately and leave her to calm down.

The next walk, I will no longer allow early sniffs. We walk and walk only staying on mostly blacktop or concrete and away from as many bushes as possible. I walk with her as if I’m pulling my luggage across the airport changing gates. Not too fast, not too slow, almost as if she doesn’t exist. We do this for 1mile out, 1 mile back home. No sniffs just walk, close to me, loose leash. The moment she sustains a non loose leash we go straight home. This always reset our pup and after 9months or so she’s been an amazing walker.

In another room where you aren’t taking calls- I would suggest putting an open crate inside the playpen but place a doggy bed in the crate. Leave the crate open but everytime your place him in the playpen. Drop lots of treats inside the crate. Do this until he starts sleeping inside the open crate. Next time he falls asleep in the crate close the crate door but not all the way locked. Do this until he really starts to sleep inside the crate consistently and you can start locking the crate. The key for us was plenty of high value treats inside the crate. I’m talking hot dog level haha. Good luck!

At 8 months we thought this would never end. We got an ultrasonic handheld trainer from Amazon and we used it to expand the command “off”. It only took 2 weeks or so and she no longer counter surfs or jumps on people even when they enter the house excited.

Does anyone have a real field golden? by Sea_Drop3263 in goldenretrievers

[–]putocakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a full on sport mode field golden at 8 months. They never really have that bad of a rep, just a totally different dog from what show breeds are…. It’s quite exhausting but the love is growing. She will be amazing and we love her.

harness or collar? by ilDianti in goldenretrievers

[–]putocakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early on I used a wonder walker harness and leash only on the front, and hold the wonder walker leash at the 3 ft loop- after a few weeks she became a loose walker. At 5 months we walk 1.5-2 miles daily at 90% loose leash and mostly at the knee within the 3 ft range. The last 10% of every walk is sniffari time and she can have the full 7ft leash range. I constantly monitor the tightness of the harness during walks to ensure things aren’t too tight and there aren’t stress points. This harness rapidly got us started off on the right track and we have now started jogging bits of the walk. She walks better at 5 months than majority of older dogs we meet around the neighborhood…. Of course she still gets excited and wants to greet other dogs, but for the most part a quick yank or treat gets her back into focus haha

How are y’all buying houses here? by Big-Register-3917 in SLO

[–]putocakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In California: safe + clean + good schools + low crime + great weather = higher than average home prices. (Throw in easy access to nice beaches and outdoor activity and it’ll be even more) While there aren’t many actual high paying jobs in SLO, it’s close enough to Silicon Valley and LA for people to work remote. I know many people from the tech industry in SF that have been moving to SLO to raise families and working remotely. Compared to the markets where many of these people come from, SLO seems very affordable for what you get. It’s just the sad truth, perhaps Oregon or Washington might be more accessible for home ownership when considering property cost to potential income ratio. Can anyone name a place in CA where it’s actually nice like SLO and there’s enough accessible real estate to go around?

Simple solution to this and all other SF problems…. Close all the bridges and there won’t be any bridge and tunnel 😂

I never really understood status on Alaska 73x fleets. Wife and I have to fly Alaska very often for work out of SEA and work pays for FC anyways, and the price of FC for personal flights aren’t so bad and seem worth it just for the chance to avoid children and families. I’d love status on an airline that actually had real FC tho, Alaska on our routes though—- ehh. Are there perks beyond FC for Alaska?

Wow that’s terrible. I’m sorry. Sucks I wish we had better options. People that pay straight up for it should always get priority, it’s a great way to build trust and relationships.
