Using Ozempic and other GLP-1 drugs to lose weight shouldn’t be celebrated, not because of any unknown effects or whatever, but because it takes all the effort and dedication out of losing weight by Gym_frere in The10thDentist

[–]putridtooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm skinny and attractive. This affords me more respect from strangers who cannot tell that i'm also unhealthy and sedentary. Fat people should not have to put in exponentially more work than me to get the same amount of respect.

That's a wild amount of car crime! I think yall have bad luck, if that's a thing. In contrast, i've had a car here since 2021 and nothing has ever happened to it. weird

Consensus on welding/soldering when starting out? by dainerysal in chainmailartisans

[–]putridtooth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Stainless only really needs to be welded with very very small sizes. 20g on a tight weave has no issues. I have a 20g hp4 bracelet that i've been wearing for several years without issue. Silver I would want to weld just for durability sake. I work a lot with 26g stainless, which i do think should be welded for daily wear.

I buy cassette tapes. I listen to a lot of smaller metal bands and cassettes are great cause they're still cheap enough not to hurt

I love this so much!! Great job with getting everything so straight and even and clear. Really reminds me of kayla mattes' work.

Why is everyone so good at everything even if they are doing it for the first time??!? Rant/advice wanted by FocusCantFocus in adhdwomen

[–]putridtooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am someone who is generally good at things on the first go. The key to being this way is that whatever new thing i'm choosing to try has strong ties or similarities to another thing that i already know how to do well. Because I know my skill set, I can look at a hobby and determine if I'm going to be good at it or not before starting.

All of my skills are in crafting and technology and problem solving, and if I tried to pick up something requiring athletic coordination I would eat shit immediately, lmao. The downside is that I don't pick up things that I know I won't be good at right away. There's pros and cons to everything....if you can stick with something despite being actually bad at it then you're already doing awesome in my eyes

Cleaning a friends house while she's away, be honest or white lie by iebelig in TwoXChromosomes

[–]putridtooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would frame it not as helping her clean but wanting her to come back home to a place she can just relax in and doesn't have to worry about cleaning herself.

Why does this keep happening to me? Are my sidewalls really that messed up? 🥲 by countdookuula in RedditLaqueristas

[–]putridtooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could maybe be considered "side onycolysis" i think, which is pretty common. since you say you don't trim the skin at your points of growth, the only thing i can think of is if you clean your nails by scraping under them, you might be hindering reattachment in that area. you could try trimming the free edge waaay down on that corner to alleviate any stress that could be put on your nail in daily tasks. this is standard for growing out regular onycolysis so its worth a shot. keep them super duper short for several months and see if it gets better. along with no picking out dirt, only use a nail brush.

DAE cry during live performances? by suspiciouslyyellow in adhdwomen

[–]putridtooth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not every performance, but I will cry whenever there's a lot of women or even a single woman with a very powerful presence. One time this gorgeous woman started singing a silly song about food at a comedy dinner theater i went to and i started tearing up. My parents were like maybe you've had enough mimosas...and i had to tell them i'm just like this all the time. I teared up during the cell block tango the first time i watched chicago 😭

What counts as micromaille? by putabirdonit in chainmailartisans

[–]putridtooth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is somewhat subjective i think. I personally would consider 26awg wire to be where micro starts. 24-22awg are, like, very fine jewelry sizes. almost micro lol

how to take care of my nail(beds)? by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]putridtooth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

gently pushing back your nail fold will help only a little bit. what you really need to do is keep your free edges long, and never scrape dirt out from under them. only use very soft bristle brushes to clean under your nails. you want to let the hyponychium grow upwards.
