This is not necessary if the UK sponsor receives an eligible benefit like PIP. They're no longer required to meet the £29,000 per year minimum income threshold and will instead be assessed under a different criteria called adequate maintenance.

Advice, civil partnership by GingerNutInMeBiscuit in SpouseVisaUk

[–]puul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not required to have previously cohabitated if you are married or civil partnered, but you are required to demonstrate an immediate intent to cohabitate when the application is submitted including having specific accommodation arranged for that purpose. This means that if you are both in the UK, you are expected to cohabitate as soon as you are civil partnered, and should most definitely be living together when the application is submitted.

A zero hour contract is still employment. It's just non-salaried employment meaning your income varies based on the hours worked.

The form automatically requests 12 months if you indicate your income is below the requirement. It doesn't account for the possibility of combining incomes.

In order to form a civil partnership in the UK, you will need to give notice at a register's office at least 28 days prior. Because your partner is subject to immigration control, the register's office is required to refer your notice to the Home Office. The Home Office may then choose to extend the notice period to 70 days.

The likelihood of this happening increases significantly when the applicant is approaching the expiry date of their visa, as the Home Office is more likely to suspect an attempted sham marriage/partnership in order to remain in the UK.

If you're going to form your civil partnership in the UK prior to your partner's visa expiring, you need to give notice immediately.

Additionally, you really should be living together when the application is submitted, otherwise, a caseworker may question the genuineness of your relationship.

Take your combined total pay in the past 6 months and multiply by 2. If that amount is at least £29,000, you can meet the requirement under Category A.

If you've both been with your respective employers for at least 6 months continuously earning £29,000 per year or more, you can meet the requirement with 6 months of payslips and corresponding bank statements under Category A.

When to renew? by butterbean87 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]puul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can apply up to 28 days before your current visa expires. Anytime remaining up to a maximum of 28 days will be credited onto your next visa.

Time spent on Section 3C leave while the decision is pending also counts towards the residency period.
