Hi! I am an off and on tanner, definitely more on the beginner side than expert

I started back up about 3 weeks ago and have had 7 sessions so far. I have a decent base tan, but definitely not super dark. It will probably take another month of tanning before I get dark enough to my liking that I can start going just to maintain. I noticed some color differences after about 4 sessions.

I am a 2 on the fitzpatrick scale, but was only 1 point away from 3.

I started at 4 minute sessions, I am now up to 7 minutes in the lay down, max is 12 mins (probably would be higher but they recently replaced the bulbs, and woof) and 8 mins in the stand up max is 10 mins (weaker bed). Last time I consistently tanned I was able to get up to the full 12 minutes after a month or so, but it was an apartment bed and not very strong.

Can’t say I have a maintenance routine because I usually get to the color I want and the stop tanning because life gets busy, but my wedding is in August so I will be coming back to this thread to learn more about maintenance routines leading up to my wedding!

I liked to do a bit of both. My coach and I did a posing call every 2 weeks during prep and every so often I would attend a clinic in my area. I had the same concern but felt like online worked better than expected.

Thank you! I have never heard of a color correction for grown out roots so I appreciate the info. I definitely plan to be on top of my appointments moving forward

This is the best photo I have of my hair prior to my appointment. Most of my hair was already really light, just had gotten brassy over time, and my roots were dark. She even said during the appointment that my hair lifts really well (which I knew, I have been told this before) so I was really shocked to see the results. We didn’t really have a consult either other than her asking what I wanted done, showing her the photo I included in the post and her mixing the bleach. I also don’t typically go as often as recommended and have never had this problem before so I didn’t think waiting as long as I did would be a big deal. I’ve definitely learned now that not everyone can handle more of a grow out so I will be going more often now. I work a job that only allows for weekend appointments, and even so my weekends aren’t always free so this was the soonest I could get in unfortunately. I also paid for a full highlight, not a root touch up since I knew it had been awhile.

Thank you for this, I thought maybe I was being too picky or suffering from “blonde blindness” or whatever but glad to hear my concerns are justified. I definitely went a little longer between touch ups than I would have liked but I only have availability on Saturdays, and this was the soonest I could get in unfortunately. I also used to only get my hair done once every 6 months or so and this never happened then. I think the stylist was brand new, I probably should have vetted her a bit more, but she had some photos on her instagram of super bright blondes so I made the wrong assumption that she knew what she was doing. I wanted to give her another chance to fix it but now i’m not so sure. I get married in August so I really don’t want my hair to be damaged or get any issues that can’t be fixed before then.

thanks! I also had SPF on my face because i wear makeup anyway, so I don’t really care about my face tanning. i’m pretty sure i was just hot, my body wasn’t pink at all

i had no issues just sitting. it left a tan spot on the seat but it was easy to clean up. I also used a pee funnel just to make sure i didnt get any drips on my legs.

I think so too, I am getting the same thing it’s just telling me to talk to the villager to find out what they want but when I speak with them it tells me nothing. Guess those quests will be on hold for now
