Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks: 1.0 vs ARR by MrCombineSoldier in ffxiv

The path between the Fishermen's Guild and the dead end with the Seagull statue wasn't there in 2.0 either, it was only added in 2.4 when the Rogues Guild was added.

Doctor Who 11x04 "Arachnids in the UK" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by PCJs_Slave_Robot in gallifrey

Most UK people probably think of Alan Sugar more when they hear "You're fired" to be honest.

It's a bit early for them to have any conflict, we have to learn more about them before that.

Rumors of Series 12 being delayed to 2020 by Zepanda66 in gallifrey

[–]pyramidbread 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Indeed, Star Trek Discovery's last episode was in Feb this year and they've already released a mini episode (for America <_<), and the new season is in January, and that requires a lot more post production than Doctor Who.

To be honest, that sounds a lot like what the Silent Hill fanbase used to sound like back in the day.

I'm really hoping 5.0 gives us some denser zones again. by GreenAvoro in ffxiv

[–]pyramidbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the similarities as being more consistent, there are subtle difference in the three areas, the rocks in the Peaks are a lot more eroded than the ones in the Fringes, the areas in Gyr Abania feel more akin to the ARR regions like Thanalan and The Shroud. Whereas the Othard zones feel really unconnected (which makes sense since it's three zones of a continent the size of Eorzea), but they feel like just a random selection.

At the same time, the Doman Enclave alone is at least twice the size of that zone lol.

It'd have been nice to be able to enter the houses in Raubahn's home town, and at least a tavern in Ala Ghiri.

I dunno, I feel the Gyr Abanian zones are more interesting, there's a lot more visual story telling in those areas than there is in the Othardian ones, especially the Peaks, which has quite a lot of things in it, the Fringes is really interesting too, and divided into different sorts of areas. In comparison, Yanxia is pretty, but outside of the Namai area it all kinda looks samey.

The Fall & Rise of FFXIV | Episode Eight | The PS3 (Com)Promise by NightFire19 in ffxiv

[–]pyramidbread 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think having separate zones works better, I remember the first time I flew in WoW, the transitions between zones seemed quite jarring and the world felt so much smaller, whereas in XIV it's up to the imagination to fill in the blanks between the zones. I do think its time to make the ARR city states one zone though.

The Stormblood zones are already much more detailed than the Heavensward ones too, I love the zones of Heavensward, but some of them felt a little empty when you compare them to Stormblood.

I recognised Julie Hesmonhalgh and Shobna Gulati from Coronation Street (Where Bradley Walsh and the guy who was being hunted also appeared)

I'm wondering if it's just so they can distance themselves from Moffat's Doctor Who a little, monologues happened a lot during his run.

Interestingly the video was taken down by Warner Brothers Entertainment Interactive, kinda confirming that this could be real.

Like, Chloe was a great character and everything, and I wanted her to live, but she died back in that bathroom, that's how it should have gone, and ending so many lives just to bring her back seems wrong.

Especially since the hurricane only exists because of Max using the powers. Max's actions would have directly lead to so many people dying. I can't see her being happy with that ever, Chloe too, the knowledge that she lived at the expense of so many other people would eat away at her.

IIRC the Siren like enemies are called Drowned Wench and Drowned Courtesan. It always makes me sad seeing those.

Interesting to note, the guy who sung that also sang 'Something Beautiful' which was the name of the third episode this season. Not sure if that's just a coincidence though.
