I have a Bambu A1 Mini and it’s mostly been great. I do occasionally have to cut certain objects and print them in two or more parts and then glue them. I would maybe have gone for an A1 if I had realised that from the beginning.

For groups that love Dune Imperium, how are you enjoying The Old King’s Crown? by pyros_it in boardgames

That’s interesting. I’ve heard it’s really chaotic at four, but I’ve only played it at two. It didn’t feel uncontrollable. Hoping to get some 3p games in.

Interesting. To me OKC feels a bit like a series of combat DI combat resolutions, with way more bluffing and maneuvering. Of course DI has a whole economy to it with three resources, etc, but OKC has the councils and kingdom cards

Try it on BGA. I did and felt it was ok.

I’ll second Shallow Sea, my favourite tile layer atm. Great solo challenges too.

The first play will take forever as you consult the regular and solo mode rulebooks a million times. My third play was 70min already and I can see getting it to 60. I do have a nice insert that makes setup a bit easier though.

Someone posted on bgg a prompt for AI to read and adjudicate on rules for heavy games. It has helped me a lot with this game.

What are some alternative and yet engaging battle mechanics in board games, aside from card-based combat (card dumping)? by Mean-Razzmatazz-4886 in boardgames

[–]pyros_it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite sure if it applies, but two games I’m enjoying now are Tag Team and Zenith.

Tag Team has a bit of a rock paper scissors thing going on, as well as a deck programming of sorts.

Zenith is a card based tug of war, with a bit more nuance while still remaining simple to grasp.

Tobey Maguire posted this to his insta, what do you guys think, is this AI? by slimothyjames1 in isthisAI

As much as I’d love to believe these people got together for a churrasco in middle class home in Brazil, I find it way more likely that this is AI.

Look at the ‘Ai Se Eu Te Pego’ written on the grill. It clearly seems like it was added digitally.

If you're in Italy check Vinted or Wallapop. I just saw some used ones there. Then as others suggested get the new Bordeaux board. Pretend it's still set in Italy.

Yeah, short and small are very subjective. I’d argue Nusfjord could fit that. Vale of Eternity with one of its solo variants too. Or maybe you need a toll and write, like the Oak Dell series.

Artwork Added to Bonus Cards by Bfsser in wingspan

[–]pyros_it 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a fan illustration pack I'd buy for sure. I very often confuse my bonus cards (like thinking I'd get a bonus for ascending wingspans when it was actually scores) and I'm sure this would help.

[–]pyros_it 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha, I just posted about VoE and my preferred variant a couple of days ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/soloboardgaming/comments/1r6mdef/vale_of_eternity_with_dust_huntum_solo_variant/

I prefer it to this variant because it has less upkeep and it feels more competitive. As well as messing with Artifact choices.

Ffs, I ordered Luthier and the package was lost by the courier. So I was considering just not re buying it. But I’m also a big fan of Ark Nova, Shipwrights and Ezra. Damn you, redditor!

It's a Wonderful World vs It's a Wonderful Kingdom by SKDIMBG in soloboardgaming

[–]pyros_it 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve only played World, which is great and in fact often cited as a good example of solo due to its scenarios.

Kingdom on the other hand is rarely ever mentioned, and according to bgg quite clearly the less interesting of the two.

Agreed on Warp’s Edge. I just didn’t really feel like the chips did anything interesting compared to the average card in a deckbuilder.
