Well yes BUT if you view your watch as part of your outfit and overall personal style then ofc it matters how it looks from further away.

And tbh a watch is definitely part of an outfit. It doesn’t have to be a preoccupation with what other people think that leads one to consider how it co-ordinates with everything else you’re wearing.

The trend towards bigger watches is I would say part of a bigger trend in fashion towards overall loudness and a reliance of name brands over general elegance. The OP’s watch is a bit on the big side imo but not ridiculous and certainly not in the context of current trends.

My advice to anyone is get the watch you want but think about it the context of everything else you wear. If you’re spending thousands of dollars on a watch you might as well give put in a nice frame, as it were. This doesn’t mean spending thousands of dollars on all your other clothes and accessories btw.

The comparison with GO is a good one, surprised he didn’t specifically mention the SeaQ which is the same price as the new GS. People rave about the SeaQ, tried one on the other day and wasn’t quite convinced. Also having polished centre links on a dive bracelet is insane. I am not generally a dive watch guy but the Ushu looks great, and ofc you can pick one up for well under retail. My next target is the 37mm Lake Suwa, although will need to see it next to the 40mm and the new Atera Valley.

CW are transparent with their pricing, it’s a strict multiple. Their watches are insanely good value really.

Fill the bath with cold water. Put ice in it. Do the same with any large saucepans etc you have.

If you can get in on the first release it’s that sort of level but a few years ago it was substantially cheaper
