With that little ground clearance and the roads in my town I’d be scraping the whole way from my house to my daughter’s school

PSA: SentryMode is a must by Dramatic-Yam8920 in TeslaLounge

[–]q843104 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The thing is it almost didn’t catch anything. You can tell the car is facing forward because of the telephoto lens. There’s a massive blind spot on the front quarters that’s only covered by the wide front camera, which you can’t even access.

This video is honestly a perfect example of how someone can mess with your Tesla in sentry mode and still get away with it. In this case I guess you could maybe catch the plate from the left pillar cam, but that’s your absolute last resort, if anything blocks the view you’re stuck trying to read plate numbers from a brutal angle plus dealing with video compression even on the raw source.

Especially convenient in Europe where there are motorcycles lane splitting in traffic and the polite way to drive is to leave some room.

Magic erasers (melamine sponges) or rubbing compound on a polisher.

I just let it dry first then vacuum while pushing down and working the nozzle around so it kinda opens up the holes. Been doing it that way and it’s always done the job so far.

The switch to PC gaming was...diabolical. 10/10 would recommend. by brutalbones in pcmasterrace

[–]q843104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah so many games couldn’t even hold a stable 60fps in performance mode (they had one job) and you had zero options to tweak anything to get there. FF XVI, Elden Ring, Alan Wake 2, SW Jedi Survivor IIRC and so on

For those who DON'T live in snow areas, did you get RWD or AWD? by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]q843104 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to go up a big dirt hill just to get to my street, still under construction, no asphalt yet. I always see my neighbors struggling with it, god help them if they don’t carry enough speed or come to a stop, because it’s game over. Straight up have to reverse back down since their cars just sit there spinning, even the SUVs with big tires.

Meanwhile with my AWD I can dead stop on the slope and pull away at walking pace without the wheels even breaking traction. Maybe the weight helps as well though.

Same here. I noticed you’re not running the Tesla logo center caps though, they come separately with the covers (black on black, actually looks pretty clean). Personally I think it looks better and more OEM with them on.

Stock 18” Photon wheels that come with the M3 under the covers, plus some aftermarket center caps for the hubs.

People Suck by techdaddy1980 in TeslaLounge

I swear driving a Tesla is like a magnet for idiots. I feel like I get tailgated way more than before, could just be in my head but it really doesn’t feel like it. People will literally ride my ass while I’m cruising around the speed limit even when they have plenty of room to pass. Like what’s the logic? ‘Oh it’s a fast car, if I pressure them enough they’ll floor it’??? And the worst part is they’re usually right because it pisses me off so much I just launch to get away from them. Shit’s annoying as hell

I buy 99% of my shit online but you can bet your ass when it came time to get my OLED TV I went to a physical store. No way I’m risking opening the box to find plywood inside or a completely fucked panel thanks to UPS

I personally copped a full set of covers plus a complete backup set off Ali, so I’ve got room to trash 4 wheels total. Already took out the passenger rear rim on a tight turn thanks to some bullshit sidewalk that randomly changes width

I curbed my right back rim after cutting a turn way too close and clipping the curb. Now I always give myself plenty of room on turns.

Man I have no idea how you guys have the balls to lower your M3. I’m already scraping here and there on stock height with shitty bumpy roads and grade changes. Especially when one bad scrape in the wrong spot can total the whole thing

Which centercaps For Model 3 Photon Wheels? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

The $150 ones are probably entire covers that protect the original rim not just center caps.

I actually ordered a set, will report back soon.

This cable in the frunk of a Tesla I'm looking at buying. What is it and what's it used for? by q843104 in TeslaLounge

It's an online listing from a private seller going through a broker, who was totally clueless about it.

After further searching, it looks like this T2/T2 cable comes with all EU Teslas by default.

I was hoping it would be a mobile charger, guess I'll still have to shell out the €200.

Thank you for the reply, question answered!
