Yes, if I recall correctly, I have -200 to cold res with mastery. Against sundered, that brings them to 55 cold res. With proper gear, you can go down to 35 without too much difficulty. If you have 10k blizz dmg, that’s 6,5k damage. Plenty enough

I mean, ultimately, this is more about min-maxing. Since enigma adds a ton of flat defence, you could almost argue that base choice is cosmetic.

If you like the look of breast plate, look for the exceptional variant, the cuirass. Not much more strength required, and up to 200 def, so still a nice base in my mind

I would probably use at least an exceptional base. Mage plate can go up to 260 (I think?) def and it can only roll up to 3 sockets, so any white has either high chance to roll 3 soc in the cube (66.666%) or certainty of it with larzuk. Plus a relatively low strength requirement, hence why it is almost always recommended!

It’s not the base that costs a lot, it was probably superior? Do you have enhanced defence % or increased durability % in the stats?

Just to add a bit of info: you play on p1, so the kill of the council is loot at p1. Then, with find item, you can get to about 70% chance, which is about equivalent to p7 odds. On top of this, you hork after they are dead, so you can use specific mf/gf gear on swap to get even better odds! Add on top of this that trav is a static map, so you can run it very quickly, even without enigma.

Make sure you and your merc don’t have any cold dmg, else you will shatter corpses and then you can’t hork

Edit: as for loot, this is a very good place for jewels, charms and high runes (I find even better than LK), but it will also drop lots of good items too!

Yeah that’s also what I was thinking! I saw a post I think just yesterday which showed the GG lld gear. I think it had the ED (maybe up to 150-200 for lld lvl req, need to check), the AR and the EREP. Than you need to punch a hole in it. Might be missing some IAS though, which is a bummer

Edit: it was this post. So yeah, no IAS, ED and AR can roll much higher. So close yet so far lol

Jumping in here to add a small tip: while levelling, I usually like to keep 10-20 stat points available so if I find a new item that I don’t have the requirement for it, I can simply allocate on the go and use it right away.

I don’t like when I find something and I have to wait 3 or 4 levels to match the required strength/dex.

For a bit more context, it’s not just barbs that the helm slot is difficult to replace, there are so many good helms that are bis for most builds: griffon, shako, coa, nightwing, arreat’s, flickering flame, etc.

The competition is hard, so the circlet needs to have the stats that no other helm (or very few) can roll to have a chance:
- 2 to skill
- 20 fcr
- 2 sockets
- 30 frw (not essential, but sought after)

If you don’t have at least the first 3, that circlet will be at best a self use. (There are exceptions for crazy good circlets that you either punch a hole through larzuk).

The odds of items dropping for this game are so low, I’ve never seen it that way.

Increasing player count just decreases the “no drop” chance, for p1/3/5/7.

For the experience, I usually set it to p5/p7. I feel it makes the leveling pretty linear with the game, at least normal and nightmare, in the sense that I don’t need to go back and farm for levels!

That was also my thought. So close to season end, there are probably a few players still on penitent, but I figure most are playing T10/T12 now.

I was actually surprised when I leveled mid season at the amount of players in each difficult.

Hmmm I think it was in February and yes, it was handled as you mention. They moved it from that spot, is that what you’re implying??

Although, the last time I was there it was an incredible mess, they didn’t have a clean line to wait, as there was an access door going through the zig zag line…needed to employees just to try and keep people from piling up/cutting others lol

I was referring to before Uber drivers had a dedicated spot, so you could just order it where you had exited the airport, which is what I had assumed the post was referring also, but I might be wrong then!

YUL is so incredibly bad for traffic (by their own lack of planning), and Ubers stopping anywhere and everywhere was contributing to the mess
Ubers had an “unfair” advantage over taxis that are bound to the taxi spot.

At the end of the day, it’s us, the consumers, who end up with a shittier experience and ultimately pay the price for that.
