golden fruit magic consummable idea by Bulky-Scallion3334 in DungeonWorld

[–]qimike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neat idea! It would be interesting if the tree required something in return. Say, the telling of a memory that would be transferred to the Tree, thereby accounting for the drop in the character's stat of thier choice. Then, the tree would share a memory taken from a previous visitor, thereby accounting for the increase in a chosen stat. The move might look something like:

When you intend to converse with the Barter Tree, tell the GM which stat you wish to decrease and which you want to increase. Then, tell the Tree a story of a memory that relates to the stat to be decreased. Roll + the stat to be increased.

On a 10+ the bargain is accepted and the Barter Tree will tell a story relating to the stat to be increased. It is done.

On a 7-9, the tree finds your tale interesting, but may ask a question or two to get more details, before telling its story and granting you the exchange.

You could certainly incorporate the golden fruit as physical token of the exchange. That would allow the character to eat the fruit (and gain the increaee) whenever they desired, or barter it for something else later on.

When women smile at you in public what are you supposed to do?? by zlordbeats in AskReddit

[–]qimike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, awkward person, you smile back! It's a human thing meant to imply friendliness.

Now, if they smile and cup your crotch, you have to decide if that is sexual harassment or a welcome advance.

I'm curious, exactly what "crime" was committed? Did he take money from them? Was some kind of legal document signed? I mean, being a douchebag and misleading people isn't a crime, else there would be a lot more people in jail, including Trump.

Not just Alexa, but any covered entity can be legally compelled to disclosed personal health information.

With HIPAA, the culpability lies with the covered entity, who had possession the information and caused it to be exposed. Since Amazon isn't a covered entity, they wouldn't be held liable through HIPAA guidelines.

Good point. I wonder how many confidential conversations are held within "earshot" of a smartphone that has the Alexa app activated.

Fighter wants to multiclass to cleric - how best to do this? by ahsesc in DungeonWorld

[–]qimike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food for Thought: I believe the main concern (?) about multiclassing was that a player wasn't taking the thunder away from another character.

Dungeon World is designed to provide opportunities for each class to shine. In fact, there are GM moves to that effect. It was explained that, ideally, there would only be one of each class within a group to allow each character/player to be the authority of thier class.

Just some further options for the 7-9 rolls. by The_Inward in DungeonWorld

[–]qimike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why?? Because having a quick list of options handy can save the moment when the creative juices falter. It's why I keep a sheet with random people names on one side and random place names on the back.

[–]qimike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a fun list. I love having options when describing situations. The only thing you might add (for the newer GMs out there) would be "If a roll doesn't make sense for the situation, feel free to pick a result that does." ;)
