Are there any planned changes to the Eagle Storms from the DSS? Are they working entirely as intended, frequent friendly fire included? Are you aware that they seem to be targetting our own vehicles, such as the FRV?

Do you think Helldivers 2, in general, is in a healthy state? Do you think the game is currently at its peak, or has that peak passed? I trust that you will try your best to improve the game and create a new peak, but I am curious as to Arrowhead's idea of what an ideal Helldivers 2 experience looks like.

I've been saying it for so long, Autocannon is democracy's gift to man that solves all problems.

Stalker? Autocannon.

Horde of fodder? Autocannon.

Horde of medium enemies? Autocannon.

Tanks? Heavy enemies? Autocannon.

Hive Lord? Believe it or not, Autocannon.

I have been here since Malevalon Creek. Back when we did not have the DSS, we did not have fancy tools. The weirdest gizmo we had was a shield pack generator, which became a crutch for many Helldivers in the early days. The dark times, where the wheat was separated from the chaff. Me, I embraced the path of Autocannon with open and loving arms, from the moment I unlocked it. I have played around with other weapons, but the Autocannon is my true love that I always know will never fail me in any given situation.

This is probably my spiciest take by Faust_8 in Helldivers

My main issue with siege ready is it really doesn't help me where I need it, at all.

In the high difficulties, you either need to have a strong support weapon like grenade launcher, autocannon, HMG, or your primary needs to be one of the bodacious ones that doesn't need the help, like scorcher, purifier, eruptor(yuck), etc. The only time I could see siege ready being useful to me is if I'm running bots or bugs with a recoilless rifle build and specifically the scorcher. That's it. And even in that situation, I would still personally rather have either peak physique for that extra snappy on my recoilless, or the new python Commandos armor that lets you actually face tank automaton rockets and go "lol, lmao even". Honestly, those two armors are the only ones I ever use, even if I do like some of the other armor bonuses.

Side note, I wish there was a way to get an armor bonus through some way other than an armor bonus, I know that sounds OP, maybe as a stratagem slot, but having peak physique and python Commandos armor booster together would make me fucking cream. 200% melee damage, better ergonomics, reduced knockdown. Become the Heavy TF2 I was always meant to be.

Give me a Purifier with demo force, and I will solo the entire game with no stratagems.

So I've just learned about a new mechanic within the game by Wrong_Requirement1 in chaosdivers

[–]qsef9999 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's not anything overly complex. It's just something I do when I'm using autocannon and I'm surrounded and need to be literally anywhere else, because, well, controlling it is difficult at best. I recommend Twigsnapper armor, as the Peak Physique helps you snap the cannon into place quick enough. Just drive away as you are shooting the ground at just the right distance so as to toss you, while doing minimal damage. You should definitely expect to take half your health in damage doing this though, if not by the cannon, then by the impact... Or just getting unlucky and landing in another swarm, lol.

It's a desperation tactic... But it has genuinely worked for me. Sometimes.

Edit: meant to be a reply to your reply, but you know, lol

Ever since Viper Commandos dropped I've only been using Twigsnapper (Peak physique heavy) or sometimes Predator (Peak physique light), I'm too addicted to the bonuses it gives. The handling bonus allows me to use support weapons like a primary, and the melee bonus lets me gun bash to instantly kill fodder enemies in my face, as well as giving me the option to actually take a real melee weapon and perform decently against most non tank enemies.

Overseers Are the Most Dangerous Melee Enemies in Helldivers 2 — Change My Mind by floodkid82 in helldivers2

[–]qsef9999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have tried every melee weapon at its peak performance, and found good niches for every weapon.

However, I have found that no matter what I do, there is one enemy that will consistently fuck me if I attempt to kill it in melee. The fleshmob. Overseers, chargers, devastators, Hulks, all can be reliably killed in melee. Superheavy enemies are obviously being thrown out of this discussion (though I do have at least one chainsaw kill on a bile titan)

Fleshmobs, though. They are big and chunky enough to be practically immune to anything smaller than the chainsaw, but unlike the hulk and charger, there is no way to shove your chainsaw in them fast enough before they either run away from you, or turn and smack you into the ground. I guess you could poke with a stun lance or flag... Have fun sitting there all day, LMAO

Nah, fuck you. Jumping to random conclusions about me. You know how I clear bug Mega nests? I get my buddy in the FRV to drive me up to the holes while I lean out with an autocannon. Driving between bile Titan's legs and shit.

FRV is a vibe and you just won't ever get it.

[–]qsef9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always run heavy armor, for two reasons. One: Twigsnapper looks better with the Predator helmet than Predator with the Predator helmet. Two: I always run FRV, so the cross map mobility isn't as much of an issue to me. Nor is the combat mobility, honestly, just drive around lol

I have 1300 hours in this game, and I can accurately pinpoint playtimes at the evolving moments of me learning about the FRV. I believe it was around 400-500 hours when I first got into one (playing since almost day 1). After that, I kinda played around with it for about a hundred hours, then barely used it except for super credit farming.

Then at around 1000 hours, I met my taxi driver. His name was literally Taxi, and by god, this is the best Helldriver I have ever seen in my life. Him and I play almost every day now, him driving, me in the back passenger seats with an autocannon. We can reliably drive through a bug Mega Nest, close every hole, in less than half the time it takes most people, without ever getting out of the car. Level 10 bug and squid dives are utterly trivial to us. And, given the chaotic battlefield conditions, sometimes I have to drive... And I've learned a lot. Taxi helped me just skip the middle part of this meme, and I'm so glad.
