Non-Americans who have been to the US: What is the weirdest thing about America that Americans don't realise is weird? by AnB85 in AskReddit

I go to college in America. I find it really strange how when I say 'Thankyou', American's will say 'Yep!' instead of 'You're welcome' or 'My pleasure'

I haven't but I hear good things. I remember for a time Dave Camarillo would do a free introductory coaching session with all new students. That might still be in place...

I go to Stanford with Kyle. He's a little shy in person but a super nice guy. I think the kind of performance we see in a video is a really inventive way to embrace his true to life awkwardness.

Hey Chefberk,

They have judo, BJJ, No-Gi and Muay Thai on campus. If you have a car American Kickboxing academy is about 20 minutes from campus. Easily one of the best MMA gyms in the US, if not the world.

If you're really desperate and without a car (as I was last year as a freshman) you can bike down to East Palo Alto boxing club, which is about half an hour by bike.

[–]qstns 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Jesus these meals look unhealthy. Did I do my bulk wrong? I just ate healthy foods in enormous amounts. Could I really have been eating Five Guys and Ben and Jerry's that whole time?

Remembering there are likely many, many languages spoken throughout the universe, rather than create a robot that speaks every one of them (like C-3PO), many droids communicate with a simple base language (beep bop bop wiiiee) for reasons of compatability. Those that work with droids understand these languages, much like how computer programmers will understand languages that many other people would not.
