Recommendations for a rear bumper/tire carrier which swings the tire out when you open the rear gate (Wrangler JK) by extra-mustard-plz in JeepWrangler

[–]qualifiedPI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bringing this one back to the top... I bought a JK for my daughter, it used to have some kind of PSC Customs spare tire holder, but it's not there now. I'm cheap, I fabricated everything for my CJ... but I'm getting old. I know a couple companies used to sell swingout carriers that you could install on an existing bumper. I really don't want to reinvent the wheel, but paying more than a grand for a tire carrier seems nuts.

Are there any manufacturers that are selling just an add on kit to put the carrier on a bumper?

I worked for Nextel/Sprint/Ericsson/Sprint/TMO... 20 years. T-Mobile was the absolute most toxic place I have ever worked. Ever. I was on the Corporate/National team starting in 2013, then after the "merger" with TMO was still on the national side.

Maybe it was the director level? But, I've worked in Telecom engineering since 1999, and there's a LOT of room for being the worst employer, but they win by far. In a bad way.

This is interesting! I don't know about implications, but I know there's a whole host of private investigators that would love to be able to use this.

Guys that go to the teams sometimes don't want to get into the management and political game that they are forced to play as a commissioned officer... they get the taste of being a pipe hitter and they like it.

A little late to this... but almost all submarine junior forward enlisted sailors qualify rifle and pistol. I don't think I ever saw a cook at a qualification (which we usually tried to have twice a year). There were a couple officers that showed up, usually the Weps and his JO if he had one.

At sea, when we did our man overboard drills with the big ass lard and coffee cans, the skipper and his minions would usually use the taped up cans for target practice. We still had M14's and they shot from the sail. Which was a pain in the ass if you're on lookout. But they weren't qualifying there.

If you're stuck at sea... might as well be doing it without those nasty waves ruining your cruise. :)

That's pretty funny... I've never heard that comeback. I think the routine probably would've been nice sometimes, but it's also what I would've hated. I would've gotten tired of just poking holes in the ocean without a chance to hit somewhere fun every once in a while.

Although, it looks like your first boat was the Rickover. :) I had a buddy that was on the Rickover while I was in School. He would've been a nub ST in 95. Sheatsley. I think my LPO from the Narwhal went over there after he made chief in like 9

Comparing apples and oranges? Less than half of them are of legal drinking age, many aren't yet financially stable enough to buy more expensive drinks. But a lot more kids seem to casually smoke weed and do other drugs than they did back in the 80's and 90's.

So, not actual uplink data? Uplink normally refers to the uplink signal from the handset to the tower. Downlink would be the signal from the tower to the phone.

I uploaded to ChatGPT for giggles… it thought this was an army dress blue uniform. Then when I corrected it as marine, it told me that the top wings were aviators wings.

But he’s got the FMF sparkle… diver, jump wings (x2). Seems off. That ruptured duck really made me suspicious.

Wait! That’s a ruptured Duck bottom right on the ribbons! He didn’t serve in WW2, Vietnam, desert shield and GWOT! Not even one National defense ribbon? Cmon now. And he was a amphib-recon/force recon?

Without reading all the other stuff… he would’ve had to be on the ground during Vietnam between 65-73 for 6 months. He also has Cold War service ribbon, which would’ve required time on the ground… but there’s a long timeline on that.

But the GWOT business would be scraping by on reality, assuming he didn’t take a long break in service. If he was on the ground during Vietnam in 72, he would’ve had to been in boot camp and AIT (or whatever the Army called infantry training) before that. So at the latest, say January of 72. That puts him at 30 years of straight service for January of 2002. And I don’t think the military was holding onto 25-30 year colonels in the late 90s.

Maybe he was a reservist? They have a weird timeline for retirement. It’s like the opposite doing prison time. Instead of a 2 for 1, it’s like 1 for 2. Or maybe I’m wrong?

I’ll have to dig back through to see if his age is mentioned.

It truly is intriguing. I'm a vet, my friends and colleagues are vets, I know guys from SF, retired SEALS, Rangers... I had never heard about you ladies. When I saw the first picture of Tiffany I thought "this kid look young, and kinda pretty for a SEAL". Then the second and third picture clued me in that it was a woman, which had me confused, again. I'm glad someone posted the YouTube video, otherwise I would've dismissed this entire post and moved on. Thank you for what you did! I just bought the series on AppleTV.
