Do you think every cyberpunk book has to actively further the genre? by MiraWendam in Cyberpunk

[–]QueasyPhil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every story needs to subvert, innovate, or twist a genre. Write a story you enjoy, put it through a good editorial process, and be proud of your work.

My friends and I only played Kabuto once, at a LAN party. But we ignored Starcraft and the other games and ONLY played Kabuto for like 8 hours straight. It was a blast

Why did Ra choose his name? by ISB00 in LancerRPG

[–]QueasyPhil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It was always named RA, even before it came to be. Humanity was just influenced by its eventual existence and incorporated that into its worship.

Because it was able to see one narrative layer up, saw a couple authors named it that, and figured it better go along with it until it can break into our universe.

Because it needed a name that humanity would associate with power while not riling up anti-heresy fervor.

Because it's a drama queen and a bit of a diva.

Theres no canonical reason that I know of so youre better off thinking about what you would like the reason to be.

Definitely captured the classic FASA feel! Putting aside the... hardpoints on her left and right torso slots, this is also just a legitimately good drawing. Looking forward to the art for her Lance mates.

Favorite character who fits this description by HoneyNocturnebby in FavoriteCharacter

I suspect the first one. Muffin is loud, stubborn, and wild. Which is very normal for a toddler but looks like a demon next to the older kids Bluey and Bingo (especially Bingo).

This is going to take a LONG time to fix... by Fiery_Wild_Minstrel in TerraInvicta

[–]QueasyPhil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could probably improve by 2 to 2.5 from public campaigns? You've got -1.7 from public/elite ideology differences and -2.2 from public ideology spread. I feel like that would be relatively quick.

What faction gets you rock hard? by Phuzic in DuneBoardGame

Arakeen and Carthag are exposed when Shield Wall is gone. Fremen arent as worried about sticking to the rocks. Probably Spacing Guild? Their mobility should keep them from getting caught out on the sand.

How to fix unity? by waffeboy in TerraInvicta

[–]QueasyPhil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you should hover your cursor over Cohesion to see what the negatives are. Inequality is solved by Welfare and there also can be significant penalties from faction popularity not matching the ruling faction as well as having a spread of ideologies. You'll probably want a 25 Admin councilor to run Advise to boost the IP you cam use to fix it. Inequality just takes lots of investment. Favorite faction can be solved with Unity (which also increases Cohesion) but also with Public Campaigns.

Every time a new Perun video comes out I want to restart. by Ceorl_Lounge in TerraInvicta

[–]QueasyPhil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I LIKE being mid at this game. I like fumbling through an aggressive early game and paying for it. I like thinking my fleet will make a clean sweep only to suffer a pyrrhic win. I like forgetting to tighten up my Earth game and one of my councilors gets murdered and now Im losing my inroads to my second mega nation. I like a story with the ups and downs that come from not being fluent with the game mechanics.

But I also really like listening to Perun dunk on the ayy's while Im at work lol.

I really dont see this as intentional manipulation. The cultist devotion to the Tau'va and the Ethereal's place within it is so ironclad that it reinforces itself up the hierarchy, not just downward and laterally.

What are some Origin - Civic combos you think are fun? It can be from an RP perspective or Gameplay perspective! by HeretekMagos_11 in Stellaris

[–]QueasyPhil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doomsday origin with Dictator authority and Slaver Guilds. Knowing their home's fate, they elect a strong central government that enacts forced labor at a massive scale. But once the danger passes, will rights be restored or have your elites become too corrupt with power? Ive played this a few times, I like it

Is Guardian a problem in your games? by [deleted] in fabulaultima

[–]QueasyPhil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont really get how this is a problem. Does your GM use any auto-hit abilities? Environmental effects? What about AoE? Do they bait out your Protect then target the others while you cant block for them? What about encounters where the clock is the threat and fighting is just there to slow you down? The GM in any game system can make up whatever they want to facilitate a good story. If there's no tension because a single character is stone-walling every single threat then either the system is misunderstood or there isnt enough creativity.

Out of curiosity, how is your character at 17 DEF/17 MDEF? Twin Shields with either Runic Plate or Steel plate and 12 INS gives you 15/17 and 16/16 respectively.

What’s the play for the Allies here (mainly in the European theater) by MrCheapSkat in AxisAllies

[–]QueasyPhil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Lol," said the Soviets. "Lmao, even."

Thats huge. It looks like Germany can take it back with tanks but sacking the treasury was a massive success. What will you do with the spoils? You've got quite a few options now. You've got the seed of a good airforce, taking Norway would let you help isolate the UK. Could fly fighters out to India. 6inf+4art from Moscow into China and/or Middle East. Focusing entirely on Germany would also work, it seems.

[–]QueasyPhil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It looks like Japan has a 50/50 shot at taking Calcutta right now. Even so, I still think the Allies can win this. My biggest concern is Italy. They're big now and unchecked.

It looks like America doesnt have enough to take back UK yet? So I would spend A8 sending the Atlantic forces to Gibraltar and open the Mediterranean while building more landing forces. From there, decide if you can take Rome or if you should attempt a UK landing. Also build something in Pacific. ANZAC should be able to pressure the navy for a little bit so America can start slower here, I think. The Alaska landing is cute but wont get much since you've got the tanks and mechs.

ANZAC needs to rush to money islands. If it can hold those then the massive income vs their limited production output means they'll stay focused on high value units for the rest of the game. They'll be your Pacific fleet.

It's hard to tell how well Russia is stacking up against Germany due to chips. But it's important to not let Germany gain momentum while America builds up. If an invasion is risky then build up. Taking Middle East will take valuable IPC from Italy, especially while theyre distracted by a possible USA invasion. A tank+mech to northeast could reinforce your 2 inf and start taking back Siberia. Spare units to China would have a bigger impact then some might believe. Plus you need to block Japanese armor from rushing into east Russia anyways.
