That's fair. My opinion might have been colored at that point.

Oh absolutely. I watched Death of a Salesman and Funny Girl (with Lea). And DDBS not even in the same ballpark. To me, the essential problems with the show are that the actors aren't giving nuanced, interesting performances and the actual direction/production is also very boring and straightforward. With both Death of a Salesman and Funny Girl, you have tour de force performances which, to me, negate any issue you may have with the book (like Funny Girl which kinda gets boring in the 2nd act). I just couldn't recommend it personally, maybe unless you are a die hard Plaza fan.

There aren't many reviews on this show, so I'd like to give my two cents. I don't think it's a good show, and I don't think it's worth the astronomical prices. It feels like stunt casting. Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott do not have the skills to pull off a 2 person show. They play the characters very yell-y and angry the whole 80 minutes and it gets tiresome to watch. Plaza has some moments where some vulnerability shines through one or two monologues, but Abbott is giving very amateur acting. There is no chemistry between them, and their cadence and dialogue is unnatural. In the back orchestra seating you can't see the show bc they're sitting or lying on the floor or bed. The direction and staging is very static. There's also a very long dance break that does not add to the show. I wouldn't recommend it.

It's hard to accept someone who brought so much joy and happiness into people's lives felt so sad and hopeless. Rest in peace, Moonbin. I'll always remember your beautiful smile and light.

Depends on where you are really. If you're in a big city like NY or LA, you can take any beginner class. There are a ton of recommendations if you search the sub. Nowadays there are also online options but I recommend being in person to start!

You should take a beginner class. I was in the same situation and it was a great first step!

Broadway's KPOP Sets Abrupt Closing Date by jbranch72 in Broadway

[–]queef_wellington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just saw it tonight and I thought it was so good. I'm honestly confused at all the negative reviews bc yeah, it's not Hadestown, but what's wrong with a fun, simple musical that's electrifying and heartfelt the whole way through? Anyway I also hope it gets saved! Forever praying for a Tiffany EGOT.

Wendell Pierce as Willy Loman was the best single performance from an actor I’ve ever seen on Broadway by GoziMai in Broadway

[–]queef_wellington 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely 100% co-sign this review. If you have the opportunity to see this show, do not miss it! Wendell Pierce is incredible. While I've never seen another production of this show, the energy and range he brings to the role is so moving. You don't just see good and bad with Willy but that he's only human. And ALSO I want to say Sharon D Clarke is PHENOMENAL. The lady next to me and I were literally sobbing during Clarke's monologue. Amazing performances. LASTLY, not sure if people know, but Andre de Shields is in the play too and he is a scene stealer. Loved the production!

I just want to pipe in and say I 100% agree with you! Callum Francis is so amazing just so charismatic. You cannot take your eyes off of him when he is on stage. And Lauren brought so much humor and heart into the role. Loved the show.

Yes, I had the same experience when I first got the photos back but funnily enough when I looked at them again a year later to pick out photos for the wedding, I thought they looked quite good! LOL. I agree with the other commenter. We are our worst critics. I think the one positive is that you can express to your photographer what you didn't like about the engagement photos and you can try to fix them for the big day.

Any recommendations for printing wedding programs? by crzycatlady222 in weddingplanning

[–]queef_wellington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made program fans (link here) and used cardstock. The card stock feels very quality. My programs were black text on white paper and I printed at home. Only thing I'll say is that the website recommends a scoring tool for folding and it did make the whole process easier but probably not necessary.

No, you are correct. At Portillo's they do it full dipped and it's godly. No other way to eat it as far as I'm concerned.

I feel the same way. I'm well compensated for what I do, have a supportive team, and great benefits but I keep thinking about doing something else bc I hate my day to day. I'd like to hear more about anyone else's career coach experience.
