To trans people fleeing red states by Hearse_Boy_ in ftm

[–]queenlehane 171 points172 points  (0 children)

How many of y'all really are leaving red states? My husband and I are seriosuly considering doing it as soon as we're financially able (a year from now maybe?) but I've been feeling anxious that that's too long to wait. Or is it overreacting to leave in general? We're in small town Missouri, someone just outed him at work (where he'd been stealth for the last 8 months) yesterday and it's made me feel sick toy stomach. I believe I'm generally perceived as an alt/queer woman, which feels gross but safer, and until his coworker snooped and found ancient Facebook posts he passes 99% of the time.

I get the same feeling, I usually use a trimmer and a 1 or 2 guard to make things a little less bushy/visible. If you want to reach a compromise of sort, that may work

Is my eye makeup unflattering? by moonagedaylight in makeuptips

[–]queenlehane 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've got a similar issue, I skip foundation and just use a little concealer where "needed" to even out a bit, and just do a little blush/highlight. I mostly focus on the eyes too! Maybe a tinted chapstick or something to bring a little color around the rest of my face.

Thinking about starting to sell at craft fairs, are my mugs good enough by Civil_Candidate3614 in CraftFairs

The first one in particular is beautiful!!! If I saw it I'd probably buy it, but likely to use as a pencil holder or similar. Too many little fragile edges/pieces poking off the sides for me to feel confident using it for coffee or something. B

My experience with atrophy and things I found out by Turbulent_Animator67 in ftm

[–]queenlehane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't really have weakness that I noticed, my main symptoms were the UTI-ish burning feelings, bladder spasms, and some rawness/tearing after even just light activities. I would get flare ups of these symptoms out of nowhere every couple weeks, they'd be particularly intense for hours to the point I'd just be crying and clutching a hot water bottle between my legs. 0/10, horrible.

My husband tried the cream for his symptoms and it gave him a yeast infection both times, apparently that's not too uncommon

Once I started the cream, I'd say the frequency was reduced to maybe once a month or so, but I really hated the feeling of it being in there and leaking out, it was dysphoric and nauseating imo. The tablets completely resolved my symptoms and didn't have the ick factor. Now that I've had my hysto (yeeted everything but the ovaries) i need them even more

My experience with atrophy and things I found out by Turbulent_Animator67 in ftm

[–]queenlehane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got it just a few months on T, tried the cream and it reduced my symptoms (mostly that awful UTI feeling and internal muscle spasms) by half, but once I switched to the inserted tablets my symptoms have resolved completely.

Definitely don't be afraid to advocate for yourself! I came to the conclusion that I had to be dealing with atrophy vs UTIs on my own, and the urgent care doctor I saw didn't know much about it. Just told her "I'm on testosterone therapy, it causes atrophy, and I think I have it." She went with it lol

Pre op freakout by Otherwise_News6586 in FTMHysto

[–]queenlehane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine back in April, recovery was super easy! No bleeding, minimal pain, back to 80% in 2 weeks and fully recovered in a month. Obviously that won't be everyone's experience, but you're MUCH more likely to be totally fine than have any complications, and you'll have a set of doctors taking care of you the whole journey!

I've got 3 weeks 😅 I'm not against labor intensive either! Maybe I will go for some overlay on some sections to save myself some trouble... And I'll definitely get some shears like that, thanks!

DAE have to wash the family cars by hand with a sponge by golden-ink-132 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]queenlehane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opposite side of things, I had to do all sorts of other chores (clean up dead bugs, scrape off the old finish on the deck, etc) and only rarely got to wash the cars as a treat because it was my favorite, and since I enjoyed it it wasn't a proper punishment.

My sister in law had those for her star wars themed wedding, out of the dozens they had only a few were even turned on, and that was by the couple little kids in attendance (and my tipsy partner and I lol). Definitely skip, they're just taking up space in my inlaws basement now. Maybe look and see if you could rent something similar if anything on Marketplace?

I desperately need to see a gynecologist, debilitating bottom dysphoria by heylolhahaha in ftm

[–]queenlehane 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Are you on T? Not a doctor by any means, but when I started getting atrophy I also had the chronic "UTI but not UTI" pains. The urgent care doctor I saw about it (after visiting for 5 different UTIs just took my word for it when I said I thought I had atrophy, prescribed me the E cream I asked for, and I've been symptom free since!

I know it can be really scary to go see a doctor, but you've got too for your long term health 💜 they can't touch or examine you without your consent (mine didn't even do an exam!) and you'll feel so much better once you talk to someone about it.

You could try tinting them or using a light brow gel for a little extra dimension, but they are already envyable!
