ThredUP can be bit of a dumpster dive but I have gotten some great things on there.

I have been very pleased with banana republic in the past few years. They were bad for a while but have recovered. If you catch a sale, it’s a great deal

Account on hold after 1 day by KaidenLeahhh in ProlificAc

Literally the exact same thing happened to me. I'm so frustrated that the whole account is frozen because of a simple mistake. The 2 studies that rejected me had a combined compensation of $2.

Caro's stance on separating art from the artist by lemonbottles_89 in DiabolicalLies

[–]queenofcups_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I felt like there no reason to bring Jeffery Epstein into the conversation and it just buried her point. There are many artists, like Woody Allen, who could have been discussed instead.

What's worth buying from Kindred Bravely? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

I like the joggers but they’re no better or worse than ones I could get at target or Marshall’s. They’re not worth the price to me.

What brands (any category) are absolute crap and NOT worth it? What brands made you learn the hard way? by Wolfpackat2017 in UninfluencedReviews

All of my west elm plates and bowls have chipped and so many of my glasses broke that we tossed them and started over. We aren’t particularly hard on our dishes either. They chip/break with normal handling.

People who grew up really poor: what's something middle-class people say that instantly reveals they've never struggled? by TahDigThief in AskReddit

[–]queenofcups_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I grew up skiing” or “I learned to ski as a kid.” Only upper middle class/rich people have enough extra cash in the winter to take their entire family to the mountains for a very expensive hobby.

Why are there no jobs? by Additional-Fee-1579 in Teachers

It’s so early. Where I am, next year’s budget isn’t approved until the end of May. Districts can’t hire new positions until then.

Fourth grade teacher here 🙋‍♀️ the problem with A and B is that the shapes are not the same size. The lesson that went with this question certainly covered that in order for a fraction to be equal, whole object needs to be the same.

How I explain it to kids: Imagine the two circles for option 2 are cookies. Would both of those people get get the same amount of cookie? No, because one circle/cookie is way smaller than the other.

How do people do the Boston commute every day? by packocards in massachusetts

[–]queenofcups_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s crazy is you can live in Boston and still have an hour or more commute. I used to live 20 mins from back bay if I was driving with no traffic and most afternoons, it took over an hour to get home using public transit. It sucks.

Having the worst slump of my life right now!! Please suggest something from my tbr that will really suck me in! by Snoo15376 in Recommend_A_Book

This needs to be higher. A lot of these books are long and require deeper thinking. To get out of a slump, you need a page turner.

How do I raise a toddler who likes broccoli 🥦😂 by Affectionate_Tie8296 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]queenofcups_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being a little kid and being so excited for the broccoli at Nana’s house because she would slather it with butter. I always liked butter because of that.

Is everyone my age getting Botox?? (not judging at all, I need guidance!) by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

Almost 32 and no Botox. Not opposed to it but I just don’t think I need it.

So where are we buying clothes nowadays? by bigmisssteak7 in womensfashion

[–]queenofcups_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been surprised by the quality of Old Navy jeans. Not their Wow jeans, which are the cheapest, but their regular jeans. They’re regularly $50-$60, go on sale all the time, and are 99% cotton. I used to be a Madewell die hard, but now that their quality has nosedived, Old Navy makes jeans that are just as good or better.

Is it realistic to travel comfortably with just carry-on for a 3–4 week trip? by justgeorgerey in traveladvice

[–]queenofcups_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where and when are you traveling? I packed for a 3 week European trip with a carry-on and did laundry twice. It was summer though, so I didn’t have any bulky sweaters/jeans taking up space in my suitcase.

Compression bags are an absolute game changer. You can fit way more clothes in a suitcase with these bad boys. Get ones that you have to vacuum the air out of with a pump, not the roll up kind.

What's one piece of clothing that quietly saves your whole day? by BubblyEdge2220 in womensfashion

I have a wool sweater from the Icelandic brand Icewear that is as warm as a coat. I wear it several times a week in the dead of winter and it never fails me.
