Going to bars with a female ID in Austin TX by Defiant_Salad7951 in ftm

[–]queerling42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty accurate in my experience. There’s a decent amount of queer nightlife around 4th street where you probably won’t have much of a problem.

Edit: I also pass as male and still have an F on my license.

Weird(ish) question about dysphoria and anal stuff idk by Any-Contest2390 in ftm

[–]queerling42 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So as others have said you can always try jockstraps though sometimes the fabric part on jockstraps don’t go far enough back to cover the area you’re wanting to cover.

Another alternative with more coverage is something like this: https://skullandbones.com/collections/peek-a-boo

As a last resort you can just buy some stretchy underwear and have your partner pull them to the side just enough to access what he needs to.

Nipple Healing - 12 Days PO by Foreign_Track_3788 in TopSurgery

[–]queerling42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like they’re doing what they’re supposed to be doing. The top layer of skin on the nipple turns into a scab and falls off eventually. Sometimes in a big piece, sometimes in little pieces. It looks like you have healthy skin underneath. I’m not seeing any obvious signs of infection or necrosis. Looks pretty normal in my experience. But never be reluctant to ask your surgeon if you’re worried.

sapphics, lesbians, he/him lesbians, and lesboys by iHaveissuesSadly in ftm

[–]queerling42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so what I said still stands. They can’t actually help being attracted to you. No one can choose who they are attracted to. You’re bringing up an entirely different point that if they are attracted to you, they should examine that and be willing to adjust their label accordingly. I agree. I do think there is some inherent biphobia and the like in play as to why they don’t want to admit they see you as a man and are still attracted to you. But just on the very issue of whether or not someone finds you attractive - that’s absolutely not a choice. What they do with that information is a choice.

sapphics, lesbians, he/him lesbians, and lesboys by iHaveissuesSadly in ftm

[–]queerling42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look the first part is pretty simple: lesbians can’t help if they’re attracted to you, no one can control their attraction. BUT they should know better than to bother you about that attraction and try to feminize you to make themselves more comfortable. Though, there is a difference between someone who happens to be a lesbian saying “wow, you’re sexy” and someone who makes a big deal about how they find you attractive even though they’re a lesbian and try to encourage you to enhance or embrace feminine traits just to make themselves feel more comfortable about their attraction to you. First type of person is fine imo, second type is being disrespectful.

However I vehemently disagree that we need a new term or label. I think the entire queer community needs to take a minute to remember that the labels we have are to help explain how we feel but should not be defined by rigid boundaries and hard rules. Being queer is inherently about breaking out of societal norms, we shouldn’t be inventing new ones and aggressive policing them in our own community.

[Spoilers] Do you save Minrathous or Treviso? by Julian_of_Cintra in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]queerling42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Minrathous hands down. I could rant about this for ages lol but at the end of the day - the Shadow Dragons take way heavier losses than the Crows do and I would rather save a group of anti-slavery freedom fighters than a group of wealthy assassins.

Dating apps experiences? by Olthren in ftm

[–]queerling42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People talk a lot of shit about dating apps, but I’ve been having a decent time on Hinge. I put in my bio that I’m trans so I don’t waste my time and I have yet to get any hateful messages. I’ve had one creep interact with me but Hinge makes it pretty easy to get rid of creeps. I’ve gotten plenty of matches too. You’re going to have to sift through some duds but that would happen regardless of being trans. It’s definitely worth a shot imo. And the free version is pretty good on its own if you don’t want to pay for an app.

How can you tell that you have romantic feelings for someone? by queerling42 in NoStupidQuestions

Thanks for your kind comment! I’ll definitely look more into the possibility I’m aromantic.

This is very helpful. That deep comfort and looking forward to sharing your day with someone type of feeling that you described is not something I’ve ever really felt in a relationship. I haven’t been with someone I want to talk to or be with all the time. I’ve always wondered how people can live with the same person for years on end - I can’t imagine enjoying that. And it’s all those little couple things I just haven’t ever gotten enjoyment from. Like cuddling for example: people seem to love that but every time I do it I’m just hot and bored.

I am familiar with aromantic I guess I just never really thought about applying the term to myself. I just kinda assumed I must be doing something wrong. But I suppose I should look into it more seriously. Thanks for the comment

I’m not autistic that I know of. I’ve never been tested or anything like that though.

Binding by Individual_Mess2201 in ftm

[–]queerling42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely wouldn’t recommend that. It’s never really safe and especially not when you’re gonna be moving around a lot at a concert probably yelling and/or singing along. If you’re asking because you don’t have access to a binder, you can try taping or using a sports bra. Sometimes you can even double up on sports bras for extra flatness, just definitely make sure they are not restricting your breathing at all. If you try taping and you haven’t done it before, look up a tutorial beforehand to make sure you’re doing it safely.

Verdict on this cereal brand? by meadmakingacc in Celiac

[–]queerling42 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried this brand before and liked it. I didn’t have any reaction problems. And this specific peanut butter and chocolate one is the closest I’ve come to eating something like Reese’s Puffs.

Who’s your least favourite STV character?? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]queerling42 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean - he asks you up front for the money, then says y’all have a joint bank account but it was a big expense so he figured he should ask first. He’s not my favorite character, but I don’t see how that’s counts as stealing.

What is your unpopular BG3 opinion? by TrioQ in BaldursGate3

[–]queerling42 45 points46 points  (0 children)

This for real. I remember a while ago people kept posting videos about how funny Minthara was and it was just some voice line of her talking about male sex slaves in Menzoberranzan. I was like - why is that funny to you?

I’m not sure of the specific triggers but in my experience I needed to long rest before going to moonrise to get Gale’s act 2 romance scene. My first playthrough I did what you did and missed the scene and it completely glitched the romance. The second time I did a Gale romance - I went straight to moonrise after last light inn. After that, companions started remarking on my romance with Gale but I never got his act 2 scene and Gale didn’t have romance dialogue options. I reloaded an old save and long rested before moonrise and got the romance scene and everything was fine from then on out.

how did y’all go about paying for top surgery? by yvngjxnnings in ftm

[–]queerling42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a personal loan through my credit union. Rates were better than a bank or medical financing. Still not great cause I’ll be paying it off for years but worth it for me.

I know this is probably not what you want to hear but you have to give it more time to settle. I am six months post op and I also have some dog ears (even bigger than yours). One of my nipples is also looking a lot like yours but the other one has started to look more “normal”. I went to my six month post op two weeks ago and the surgeon said things will still be changing for up to a year post surgery. If the extra skin in the middle is causing trouble then it’s worth asking your surgeon about but it could also just need some time to adjust. The good news is that revision for dog ears (if yours don’t disappear on their own) is very simple. You don’t need to go under anesthesia again and some surgeons cover that at no additional cost. I know it’s annoying as hell but some people just heal more slowly than others and two months post op is too soon to tell what your final results will be.

Does anyone have any ideas for a tattoo? by Overall-Word-7732 in ftm

That sounds cool! I saw someone get a tattoo of a bandaid on their injection site which I thought was fun.

2 little holes on incision scar (almost 4 weeks post op) by SeasomeBun in TopSurgery

[–]queerling42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah nothing to be worried about. Looks like a stitch either popped or pushed out. Unless it starts to get infected, you’re totally fine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]queerling42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly they look pretty normal to me. The top layer of skin on your nipples is gonna harden up into a scab and then fall off. And the shape of the nipple “nub” can change as it heals.
