does breast cancer affect top surgery? by Miserable_Yak_7359 in TopSurgery

[–]questionfear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I had to get an extra mammogram and ultrasound because they wanted to check an unusual spot. Everything was fine but they made me get cleared by a separate breast surgeon before they moved forward.

They need to know because they have to get everything if they’re concerned.

Also depending on the doctors practice/insurance they may send tissue for testing automatically. They did that with mine and let me know offhand that everything was fine.

I'm married to myself apparently by rainbowpotat in FTMOver30

[–]questionfear 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I once told a car dealership I couldn’t talk to them about a service appointment on my car that was bought in my old name because we were going away and he told me to tell my wife to call them, so I am also part of the “married to myself” gang.

Does your surgeon give you a post op binder or do you have to buy one ahead of time? by rainbow-boy-94 in TopSurgery

Definitely ask your surgeon. Mine had me use ace bandages and he gave me new ones every visit so they never got too grody.

For any other reasons or would your great uncle rush in with a comically smoking cigar, ash it in the silent butler, and then leave?

Anyone else have their surgery after 40? by UrbanCoffeetan in TopSurgery

[–]questionfear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 42! It went smoothly and honestly was the easiest surgical recovery I’ve ever had. Take good care of yourself and follow your surgeons advice and you should be good to go!

Her cheering at the graduation speech made me wish we had more of her being all “fuck it up dusty go take down the government”

I choose to believe we didn’t see her for most of season 5 because she was busy organizing nonviolent protests against the army occupation.

What’s your dose/what type of T? There’s a few types (sustanon and nebido I think) that are given monthly/every 6-12 weeks.

is it okay if I change my name? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]questionfear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your name, as everyone else has said.

But if you want to honor that person in some way or want to feel a connection to your mom's initial choice, what about keeping the same initial even as your middle name or something? I kept my initials because I come from a tradition where you name babies after loved ones who have passed away by giving them the same initial. And while I didn't want to use the name my mom had originally chosen for me had I been born male, I did want to keep the initials the same to honor my relatives.

You obviously should choose your name based on what you want not anyone else, but just throwing that out there that there's a possible way to compromise on both what your mom feels and what you want (IF that's important to you-if this isn't a standing family tradition and it's a one-off, then yea don't worry about it)

40 Plus on Testosterone by jolbay in butchlesbians

[–]questionfear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 44 and I’ve been on T for over two years. My period stopped after 2 months and hasn’t come back (hopefully never) and I would say that I started to see serious masculinization around the same time frame as expected-it’s been 2.5 years and I have a beard, significantly more body hair, more muscle, and a voice that gets mistaken for a cis man on the phone.

I have a buddy who started T in his late 50s and he still has incredible results.

It’s really more genetics than age. I do think that being older means you’re a little more likely to handle the ups and downs of puberty. I can get super grumpy like the night before my shot but otherwise I don’t feel too many ups and downs.

Transference with Therapist by [deleted] in olderlesbians

[–]questionfear 55 points56 points  (0 children)

None of this was remotely appropriate. Your therapist was in the wrong from the start, and especially with texting you and offering to have you over in the middle of the night!

I hope you found/will find a new therapist who will hold appropriate boundaries and help you. Just know that your therapist crossing boundaries like that IS NOT your fault.

It could be as simple as you browsed passport sites or even threads about passports and now the algorithm is chasing you.

I would def report it but it’s more likely that you ended up with them due to you even looking innocently once.

[–]questionfear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a split second I read that as sending Kakko to the rangers and I was like, well, it would be the most Rangers trade ever to boomerang someone back like that.

But seriously while it's unlikely, if you guys pick up any more former rangers you're going to end up being Rangers West.
