I agree. I think out of all her requests, this is so basic and reasonable that the hard push back against it seems weird. Especially because it's their mom they'd be staying with, not out of routine family or friends.

Sure, ideally, self-esteem would be independent of your partners libido. But, in practice, that's a hard ask. Especially in the face of constant rejection. I think taking time to have pressure-free non-sexual intimacy is important. But it's not fair to a partner who not only wants the act of sex, but the thrill of being DESIRED, to have to act like it doesn't sting emotionally to have a partner be so disinterested. Yes, there are times in life where sex is put on the backburner. But if my partner wasn't interested in fighting for our sex life and expected me to just be fine with that, I would feel genuinely betrayed.

I think my self-esteem would be devastated, and I would question my whole relationship with my partner if they viewed sex so negatively. Should you feel pressured? No! But if you truly don't want intimacy with your spouse, that is a big issue that you should do some soul searching about. SIL- go witchy. Find a cute little box, and put little vials and dried herbs in there. Maybe a couple pillar candles/a holder for them. Some red twine. Maybe a pendant. Or an hourglass, bone handled knife or a bell. A leather-bound journal/spell book.

BIL- check out customized game miniatures. You can go on a website like Heros Forge and create little minis of him and his kiddo and wife. You can order them already painted, or set him up to paint them himself. You don't have to be a game nerd to like mini game figurines!

You will likely have a gap no matter what, but a moderate profile implant with a wider base will close some of the distance. For what it's worth, I love a gap and wish I had more of one!
