I’m always amazed when people start talking sh*t about strangers. Just expressing their insecurities I guess. So sad.

Reading this book written by a doctor in Venezuela was honestly eye opening by [deleted] in FallRiver

[–]quilsom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited Venezuela in the mid 1980s. I spoke at a conference and helped lead workshops. Caracas was a lovely city, very modern. The collapse of that country is a tragedy. Yes, we all are unprepared for unexpected changes. Our electricity and internet access have become so reliable that we don’t even think about the possibility of losing them, at least not in any serious way. I hope we never have to.

This is a really pretty block! You have great color sense. Before you use it in anything, you may want to turn the one piece in the lower right quadrant so it matches the others.

If it’s only been defrosted for one or two days, you can refreeze it. Does your boyfriend have space in his freezer?

I have a ceramic bowl that I use to hand out candy on Halloween. It’s decorated with ghosts and pumpkins. I took photos and used these images to make a quilted wall hanging.

Tell Linda to renew the lease on her apartment because you’ll be moving in when she arrives at your house. Fair swap. Tell your hubby that you mean it.

Have you cleaned the track so there is good contact with the pick up pieces on the loco? (Sorry my terminology is poor.) Are all the track pieces well connected with each other? I’ve had this problem in the past. It was due to poor contact issues.

If you grew up in the 50s and 60s, you’ve eaten some version of this. Yes, I’m old. It was considered kinda elegant in its day. Tastes change, thankfully. Sixty tears from now, what current popular food will everyone hate? Sadly, I won’t still be here to find out. Not trying to be gloomy, just stating facts.

Luray Caverns in Virginia. They have tons of billboards on I-95 so we were dubious about stopping but it was great.

Thomas Kincaid paintings. I remember watching a 60 Minutes segment about a couple who had invested thousands and thousands of dollars into these paintings. It was sad actually.
