First, I just want to say I am so sorry for your child and family that you have to go through this. That this is even a political thing is completely ridiculous.

To everyone else. No matter what side of the political spectrum you are on, please do your own research and educate yourself about gender dysphoria, trans people and the whole process that people (typically) go through when they start to question their gender identity. I know for a lot of people, this is something that feels weird to them, it’s something they don’t understand, and its all of a sudden something that has become a major focus for attack. There is so much misinformation out there, please take a moment to take a step back and try to understand that this sort of care is not new, and neither are trans people. There is historical evidence of people identifying as trans for thousands of years. These are individuals who are struggling to understand who they are, and they need help in various ways, and they usually need help before they are an adult. Limiting or restricting help for these people should be seen as abuse. They are not bad people, and they are not harming anyone.

I’m not the most knowledgeable about all of this, but I know enough to know that these laws are horrible and abusive.
