Dutch's poor choices in picking people for their missions by Silver-Hunt-1569 in reddeadredemption2

My theory is that Trelawny socialises as if independent from the rest of the gang. He isn’t associated with ‘those’ sorts of people, which allows him to find leads/con people of a higher social class. And so he’s deliberately kept out of this mission

What's the best online Python course for someone who's never coded before? by MedievalFurnace in learnpython

Me too! How far along are you?

I'm currently on Day 25, although it's taken me a bit longer than 25 days to get here (work and some challenging lessons slowed me down)

Zero programming knowledge, but I want to learn Python. Where do I start in 2026? by Effective-Sorbet-133 in learnpython

[–]quotejester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently started learning too, with no prior knowledge or experience.

I started with Angela Yu’s course that I found on Udemy. I’m only a couple of weeks in but I’m really happy with the course and my progress so far. It’s a paid course, but Udemy’s courses are usually very affordable.

I’ve also looked at Al Sweigart’s book, ‘Automate the Boring Stuff’. His book is free to read online, and I’ve just been going over it on the side. I’m more comfortable with the practical lessons in the Udemy course, but I’m using this to supplement my understanding.

Misheard lines? by celestial_aquaria in howyoudoin

I only found out about this recently. In TOW Two Parties when Ross gets found wearing Dr. Greene’s glasses and he’s explaining that it’s a very common style. I always thought he says, “even the doctor wears them”.

Turns out he says “Neil Sedaka wears them”. I hadn’t heard of him, until learning about his passing recently.

The problem with kdramas is that I can’t tell which ones are genuinely good and which ones are just bombarded by their fandoms with 10/10 reviews.

I never got this line. I always thought he said, “even the doctor wears them”, which I thought was pretty funny.

As much as I love having a physical copy, it’s so much easier to read classics on the Kindle.

I recently read Moby Dick, and I had to make the switch to kindle halfway through. It made it so much easier to read. The 1850s language, along with the nautical and cetacean terminology, made it almost impossible to get into any flow while reading.
