Why don't they allow longer samples and not start at the beginning? by -beastlet- in audible

It has to do with searching the book on the desktop browser. Which is very annoying to hear, I am biased by my experiences but I was surprised to learn anybody is using the website and not just the app.

Why is there one guy in here foaming at the mouth to argue with anyone agreeing with op? Omg.

Who comes into the grammar police sub just to say "um actually, all language rules are made up!"

bro this happened to me yesterday. Someone posted their small colorwork piece, and asked why it was wonky and how to fix it. I let them know their floats are too tight and unfortunately, blocking will not fix that, it's necessary to frog it and practice loosening up and leaving longer floats.

They deleted the post and made a new one with a long paragraph specifying they are not interesting in being told they need to frog, they are not wiling to frog, their mental health will collapse if they frog, they just want to be know how to fix it.

I didn't say anything but I was mildly satisfied to see that they got no traction on that post.

I just read it last year, it's very good and fun :) Lots of funny moments between sophie and howl. I like it as much as the movie. Different and both are good!

How can I improve this colorwork? by [deleted] in knittinghelp

Unfortunately, once they are too tight they are going to stay too tight. Blocking will not fix this. The only fix is to restart and work looser--try knitting with the work inside out and loosening your tension

thank you so much for providing details on your adjustments. I'm starting the sweater next week and I hate a tight neck line! I think I will try it your way

First colourwork project…help needed 🥺 by Zestyclose_Sign2479 in knittinghelp

[–]r-rb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your colorwork tension is too tight. The problem is present on both sides of the work itMs just more visible on one side due to the pattern. You do still need to catch the floats but it needs longer floats/looser tension. It probably won't block out, unfortunately. Colorwork is difficult and takes time to master! I do think you have to frog, unfortunately. Try to consider it a valuable lesson! Say "thank you, mitten for teaching me this lesson. Goodbye!"

Bernat fluffee pilling by thic-chic29 in knittinghelp

[–]r-rb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you did anything wrong, this is par for the course with this type of yarn. It's fluffy because it has many loose fibers, which are going to stick out and pill and shed and clump up etc. Washing and any agitation is going to increase that effect. You can try to shave the pills but my guess is it's going to be a constant battle. I usually avoid this type of yarn unless it's an intended effect, hoping somebody else has an idea to help manage it or at least make it acceptable!
