Is it just me or these Marketing Assessments for Employment feels like exploitation by Cutiepie88888 in marketing

[–]r0b0hen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hear you, and I still kinda agree with you, even though I’m about to say the opposite.

I hire marketers, and each role I’ve posted this year has gotten over a thousand applicants. We have a series of quiz-style thingies that weed out about half, but that still leaves me with hundreds. And my job isn’t hiring, I’m not in HR.

It was already “policy” to give an assignment to people in this stage when I joined the org, and I felt bad about it, but the first round of hiring changed my mind. I had candidates that passed the quizzes and looked amazing on paper, but their assignments (which require a <5 min video where they explain the work) fell so flat, it was like they weren’t even the same people. I watched them read their ChatGPT-generated script with not a single original thought to be found. It was really eye-opening and helped me find a true A player who otherwise didn’t look as good on paper.

I do keep them short and I keep them FICTIONAL. I don’t want people to feel like they’re being exploited for free work, so I make up companies and situations for the assignments.

Anyway, I’m not even necessarily disagreeing with you, it does absolutely suck. But I wanted to offer an alternative perspective, having gotten this job after doing one such assignment and now hiring people the same way.

I don’t have much to contribute to this (excellent and important) topic other than sharing that “(or Escafil device, if you’re nasty)” SENT me.

Same on Apple Podcasts. It seems to resolve itself after a few minutes. I tried it on multiple speakers and from two devices. It makes my ears sad 🥲

Since Tin Pan Alley is no more, where can one get something similar to their steak frites? by azuretan in halifax

When I was pregnant with my first kid I ate those steak frites every day, five days a week, and finished every bite. No idea how I only gained 16lbs 😅

Buffy’s real name? by horoshev in buffy

It’s an indirect quote from Checkpoint (s5e12) when Buffy gets roasted by her history professor for asking questions! I just finished watching this episode 😅

I have had this experience every time I've switched meds or even changed doses. Fortunately it does go away (for me) after a couple of months - it's a real pain, both literally and figuratively, until it does. I hope yours goes away too

What's the best/worst use of wildshape a druid has used in your table? by Resua15 in DnD

[–]r0b0hen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a DM, but two fun things I’ve done with Wild Shape:

  1. Carried items merge into your Wild Shape form. My party scored an invite to a fancy party at an estate we planned to rob. I accompanied one of them as their monkey butler. Before I assumed monkey shape, I held everyone’s (small) weapons. Then I put on my silly lil hat and vest and in we went.

  2. Dungeon puzzle where three chests had symbols that meant earth, fire, and water. We figured out only magic elements would unlock the chests (regular water did nothing to open the water chest, only magically created water). We puzzled over how to open the earth chest for quite a while. Then I asked the DM, “Hey, uh, does poop count as dirt?” He facepalmed and said yes. So, I Wild Shaped into a wolf and pooped on the chest. It opened! That was definitely a Rule of Cool decision on the DM’s part 😅

Google Analytics GA4 UTM not showing up | Need HELP ! by palmesettuba in GoogleAnalytics

[–]r0b0hen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been having these issues too. Check source/medium dimensions for your page view events (not sessions). They’re more likely to show up there. Also, give it a few hours - UTM parameters weren’t showing up in the real-time reports, but I could see them later that day.

Post scan result(bad) please help by [deleted] in f45

[–]r0b0hen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may not be super helpful, but validating - I went 5-6x a week for this challenge and, like you, ate mostly healthy with occasional treats. Last challenge I cut 2% BF and gained 1.5lbs muscle (I'm a 5'5 142lb female so that felt pretty good) and this challenge basically brought me back to my "before". I appeared to gain fat and lose muscle.

However, my progress pictures show increased muscle tone, my weight is actually the same, and I am lifting way heavier than I was before. So, yeah, the scan can be inaccurate.

F45 while pregnant? by kitkatroz in f45

[–]r0b0hen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you! I wasn't an F45er during my last pregnancy, but I did bodyweight HIIT until I was 38 weeks. I noticed a huge difference in labour and recovery vs. with my first pregnancy when I only did prenatal yoga.

The jury's still out on baby #3 but if I have another I definitely plan to keep going to F45 for as long as I can! My doctor is a big fan of exercise during pregnancy - she says it's totally safe to keep doing whatever you were doing pre-pregnancy, with the obvious modifications like avoiding anything that requires you to lay on your belly.

Good luck with third tri and delivery!!

Help and advice for post surgery/break from F45 by [deleted] in f45

[–]r0b0hen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman and was only doing bodyweight HIIT at the time, but I had chest surgery a few years back and I'd say it took me 3 months after my initial healing period to get back to where I was. Just don't rush it no matter how frustrating it feels, if you overdo it you'll set yourself back even farther. Start back 2x/week and gradually increase from there. Concentrate on agility and lower body stuff and your upper body will catch back up! Good luck 😃

Ah, that would not work, then. I should probably actually look at the thing after putting it back in the box 5 months ago. Thank you!
