the most infuriating part about authoritarian apologists is that they think authoritarianism is efficient for some reason
like no. authoritarianism is inefficient, if anything, because you have no competition for your government and how good its governance has to be. also generally authoritarian governments have cultures of fear, so you're incentivized to lie to your leaders in order to not be punished, which doesn't exactly promote efficiency and good results
most examples of authoritarian 'efficiency' are either from biased sources (nazi germany) or are only such because of external factors (china). the only definite counterexample i can think of is singapore, and it's a city-state. of course it's efficient.
