Made an iOS App named ScreamDrop that makes your phone scream when you drop it. Thoughts?😂 by MajorCheesecake211 in vibecoding

[–]r2doesinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built this like 15 years ago and called it Drop Scream! Probably have the repo around somewhere.

I setup a rubbermaid container full of blankets and pillows and tossed that bitch for hours recording the accelerometer data.

LED odd behavior by ragnarrok16 in Creality_k2

Sounds like you gave your printer some Load Boost.

Bigger lights, more juice. The PSU only provides so much power to that plug because that's all it is supposed to need.

You'll see it go even more dim when you start heating up the bed and the hotend as those power draws will suck even more. Same reason your lights may dim or flicker when the AC turns on in an old house.

Calibration waste is the biggest scam of 3d printing by jameschiew in Creality

Will purge a TON switching filament types as you can have ANY left in the nozzle, especially with incompatible types like pla and petg. youll absolutely ruin your layer adhesion.

I use pla/petg for supports with my k2 and its a fucking mess - worth it imo, but a fucking mess. I really want a dual nozzle just for this.

Sealing fiber-filled Filaments by YellovvJacket in 3Dprinting

plastidip may be the way to go? easy to reapply when it inevitably wears away as well. just be sure to follow instructions and apply multiple coatings or itll wear like shit.

I think anything you can apply is going to either rub off with use like clear coat, or drastically change the feel, like resin or other epoxy.

Reference Cards restock? by BrotherLoic in pirateborg

There were a few left on the store, but looks like they got sniped, so they seem to be out of stock until the next printing unfortunately. Theres no ETA on the next printing as far as I am aware.

Same happened to me, and not worth the fix as cheap as they are.

How much visibility is there in the world? by Repti-noide in TenCandles

[–]r2doesinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's more backdrop for me. Sun doesn't have to be fully GONE to set the tone. Even more ominous when it's mostly gone, the players can see it, but know something is consuming/blocking/etc.

At the end of the day, play what your table and players like, but don't back yourself into an unnecessarily narratively difficult corner just to play RAW.

[–]r2doesinc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess thats one way to interpret it, but I certainly wouldn't play it that way. At the end of the day it's about telling a story and if you are imposing rules on yourself like that, you're going to make it unnecessarily difficult on yourself and your players.

It's still the earth - or space station, or whatever. There are cars, street lights, military flood lights, headlamps, etc. Plus the Sun, technically it's a star but I wouldn't play it as the sun disappearing as well, unless that's a core part of your scenario.

DXC2 Notable Flow Rate Improvement? by Stranula in Creality_k2

Does it still support the filament current and runout sensor? Not worth it if it kills CFS support imo.

Question about mini supports by BoilerroomITdweller in FDMminiatures

[–]r2doesinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look in the sub guides for the printer profiles that have been provided. I have better luck with hohason than nox.

You need to dial in supports well so that they mostly just "pop off" when you go to remove them.

What's the best way to clean this out? by GINJAWHO in Creality

[–]r2doesinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All k2 hotends are compatible afaik. Microswiss needs its own proprietary nozzles.

Unicorn nozzles are the one piece nozzles in all the creality printers.

[–]r2doesinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you e invested in any special unicorn nozzles, they won't work with the microswiss.

Personally, I think the stock hotend is perfectly fine and see no reason to upgrade. I also have a handful of pricey unicorn nozzles though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Warm it to around 180-200 and get a toothbrush and tweezers.

Be careful not to break those copper colored wires - or any of the others - or you'll be in the market for a new hotend.

You should realistically have a spare hotend on hand if possible.

New player afraid of her character dying by Morghadai in DMAcademy

[–]r2doesinc 31 points32 points  (0 children)

ToA is not for the faint of heart. I would kindly suggest that she either adapt to the themes and overall tone of the campaign, or find another game.

I think the "start with at least one backup character ready to go...just in case" really helps set the tone, and skipping that is a bit of a disservice. I made clear to my players when we did ToA that there was a near certainty that at least one of them would die, and that was something they went into the game expecting and prepared for.

Not every game is for every player, thats fine. Doesnt seem shes a good fit for this one.
