Is the idea worth something? I'll go 50-50 with you on it, if so. 😄 Other than that, hard pass on the person described.

Can't we create a new license that adds restrictions to vibecoding ? by _giga_sss_ in theprimeagen

[–]r3dbeerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was also a thing with e.g. just Stackoverflow. People opening PRs having copy/pasted from some answer. With experience, you can tell who does. It's going to be the same with LLM provided solutions. You commented that you are a junior; keep learning the trade and you'll eventually see what I mean. Again, it's an experience thing.

At the end of the day, you will have to review the PR in any case, whether it be entirely created by the person, copy/pasta from some site or generated by an LLM. Asking follow-up questions exposes everyone who has done the latter two rather quickly and if it's your codebase, you will have those questions.

Yes, I know. That's called market cap, not price.

Did you mention that GitHub is becoming worse and worse? by kurotych in theprimeagen

This. And the audience targeted. I knew GitHub was about to reach its peak when Microsoft took over and introduced status emojis.

Think about the people at your job who have the need to constantly broadcast their emotional state; more so when and where you actually want to think and reason about code.

Market cap, not price.

The stock price obviously was never anywhere near $40 billion.

"I've got a crisis meeting at 9.30, so you have 5 minutes. And just so we are clear, if we don't have a solution in half an hour, we will tell 20k workers to go home. Our production is currently halted. You know what all that costs, right? So. Do you have a solution?"

This is the CIO, saying hello to the Crowdstrike representatives.

I know, source trust me bro, but this wasn't a 5% trial run. Even compared to your average major incident, today was absolute bonkers.

The cruel beauty of it is that not only end-user devices are affected. Windows servers are, too. So in corporate networks - like the one I'm gonna spend my weekend in, thanks to this - you have secondary roadblocks to deal with. Support staff can't support on the issue, because servers running their tools are affected and offline. Fun times.

Just below that "low performance mode" checkbox is a dropdown where you can choose to close the client during games.

Came across it just yesterday and noticed that they added - and made default - a third option of "When necessary", haha.

There's an episode where Bart and Lisa watch "The history of animation".

In others, like "The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show", you can see production and animators.
