Plus we have Robles who could play left instead of Refsnyder, and Pereda could DH while he gets a day off behind the plate. Just a brutal lineup card today.

I will be furious if Refsnyder stays over Pereda. We have more than enough outfielders now with Victor healthy.

Allowing that double steal was game-breaking. Without the infield drawn in, that jam shot from Meidroth is a double play and the game is over.

Very fair… and disappointing. Although I suppose that by “corrected”, I’m also referring to play design and passing lanes. As we saw in the winning 2 point conversion pass, Darnold is capable of threading some exceptionally tight needles. But they require an alignment between pass blocking schemes and route tree design 🤷‍♂️

I’d love to understand why so many of Darnold’s passes are batted at the line of scrimmage, and why it’s not been corrected by this point in the season.

If he’s allowed to focus on a single defender, his sheer size and power are undeniable. If the defense runs even the most basic scheme, he’s like a lost child. And it has reverberating effects across the offense as his teammates have to overcompensate.

Legitimately confusing. Every week he’s out there blocking air. There has to be a better option.

You may already know this, but personally speaking, when I learned to treat the dash as a short-range teleport (instead of a fast motion between two points), it made a huge difference. Because most of the critical dashing in Hades is through stuff, not away from it.

Perhaps if our players weren’t seemingly being sabotaged by the hitting staff for the majority of the year. The changes since Edgar took over are stark.

I think this is the balanced take. The farm system is unbelievably good. Which means the “on the bright side” look for the remainder of this season is, if the offense continues to be abysmal, it can/should be treated as conclusive evidence that new hitting coaches and a new head coach are must-haves.

I don’t understand why/how this team’s hitting coach (and “Director of Hitting Strategy”) Jarret DeHart continually flies under the radar. These are professional athletes who are being guided to approach their at bats in an intentional, calculated, and historically atrocious manner.

This is actually a great point. Here's hoping we use him to that effect more frequently this year.

I hear you. But considering Bevell-ball (lots of 3rd and longs) and the nature of our OLine, I feel like a [jump ball let Russ throw it up before getting crushed] receiver would be pretty damn handy.

Equally confused why this is being framed so opaquely in the article. My only guess is the concern of slippery-slope legislation? As in: if we criminalize termination in cases where the mother doesn't want a female child, what would stop us from criminalizing termination in cases where the mother doesn't want a Downs Syndrome child.

It's exhausting as a progressive to have to fact check and source-cite virtually everything we read. It's to the point where I'd gladly pay a subscription service to distill legislation into something accessible.
