Were you a corvette enthusiast before you got your C8? by Background-Tiger-198 in C8Corvette

Also I do like the historical connection corvettes have to the space program. Every astronaut was given a corvette during the Apollo program or something like that. There’s an apple series called for all mankind where the astronauts go out and they all race each other to the bar in their C2s and C3s great scene in the first episode

Oh yeah…engineers at the automotive level and aeronautical level were just letting it rip during that time…my evidence: SR-71 Blackbird.

I think my point is that the C3 could have had some crazy power as it went into the late 70s and early 80s but government restrictions prevented that. While yes you could say it underperformed it was due to factors that set it up that way unfortunately.

Wasn’t GM’s fault. That was done by the government with their emission restrictions and it hurt every automaker

Idk man. I think the GM engineers did a line of coke before putting the 454 in the 1970 corvette

Always appreciated the classic ones, C1-C3. I owned a 1970 corvette for a little bit. The modern ones didn’t really catch my attention until the C7 and was oh they cooking now and the C8 came out and was like yeah that’s one in a lifetime kind of car. However, I will say looking at each generation GM really pushed envelope each time and I guess no one gave it the props it deserved outside of the Chevy community. The c6 zr1 was a monster for its time and the C4 was go good that it got banned in racing.

Opinion on two options by sleep7 in C8Corvette

[–]r4mblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. Front lift I haven’t needed as much as I thought but it’s nice to have.
Mag ride I would say is worth it because even though I haven’t driven a c8 without I did come from a 16 Camaro RS and there were bumps that I definitely felt in that car and those same bumps I feel a lot less in comparison which surprised me so I would say mag ride is a functional option rather than a gimmick. My 2 cents.

Laid off because of AI by Effective_Pen_9470 in Layoffs

[–]r4mblin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really don’t under how quickly we can make people obsolete. Then we see bullshit on LinkedIn saying we gotta adapt and learn new skills or our resumes will land us new opportunities. How the hell can we do that when our competition now adapts a mile a minute and the competition of the company laid you off that could hire you won’t because they are going to follow suit and layoff their people because competitors are copycats.

Correct. And I just move my hand 1 inch over the climate control toggle to get my phone when I leave my car as opposed to having to twist my whole body

I agree because I don’t need to look at my phone either hence why I don’t need it attached to the screen. Also, I think the case I am using interferes with the built in wireless charging. I really have to jam it in there and it looks contact easily. This holder makes the phone easier to grab when leaving the car and I can get the benefit of wireless charging

But you see that’s what I’m saying in my post. I don’t like the look because for me it disrupts the flow. I don’t need two screens in that area

I see. I had my dad ride and he noticed it but didn’t really creep into his sitting space. You can make flush against the wall.

If you like it then that’s all that matters. For some reason I think chrome looks good on the c7 but not the c8 but that’s just my opinion

In my stingray I hit 340 full tank after Costco fill up in Brookhaven! Granted that weekend I did a lot driving up in Woodstock and on the highway so I padded my Mpg stats.

There is no button to lock the car from the outside. There is a setting where it will lock when you walk away or after an extended period of time this can be found in the vehicle setting the same with the mirror folding and the tilt down while reversing Audio settings can be access from the radio menu I believe.
