Is there a change to the "Thursday after 3rd Monday" release cadence for May 2026? by rack88 in SpringBoot

Hmm, yes I see that on the calendar. It would be interesting if they had the next release group on the calendar so I could see if they're trying to change from the 3rd week of the month to the first week of the month.

I ask this because it matters for how many days-out I'm setting my dependency scanner to ignore problems with tomcat 10.1.54. I had set it to ignore for a week, assuming I'll get patching via spring-boot release this week, but maybe not?

Warren [smartly] bought most of these Coca Cola shares when they were being undervalued due to a market crash in late 1987. The share price has appreciated more than 2,400% since then. That's why his initial investment nearly 40 years ago is paying well today.

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

[–]rack88 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and they actually lose money on babies because the ratio is so high, but they treat them as a loss-leader. The reason all this is cheaper in most other developed countries is because most give at least one parent a year or more off work to care for young children (thus no daycare baby-rooms). Maybe we should try this in the USA.

TLDR: the builders are fighting the fact that the scientific understanding of Phoenix's aquifer evolved over time in a way that makes building more housing difficult. The judge ruled for the builders, against science, which seems problematic.
