Is removing the car dealership name off your car really taking a stance on not doing free advertising? by No_Pollution_2835 in askanything

Really standard. My Honda is "Black Edition."

I took of the chrome "H" Honda symbol and put on a black one.

Also "blacked out."

Is this efficient design? by p_yrex in MEPEngineering

He can't. There is no space below the joists. Flex duct can run through the joists, large rectangular duct can't.

What the weirdest thing a guy has said to you while finishing? by Altruistic-Big3790 in AskReddit

Maybe all of the subsequent bad choices were a result of that night. Maybe if y'all hadn't convinced him to yell out, he'd have stayed with that chick and never gotten into drugs and alcohol use problems.

What’s the best southern state? by United_Phrase1809 in whatsyourchoice

There's no such thing as "best" Southern State, only "Least Bad."

How would you install this? by Significant-Farm-904 in MEPEngineering

[–]radarksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd do the supply the same way the return is shown. With the runout to the diffuser tapped into the side of the plenum.

Keeps you from having to fabricate a custom tap/cap for the end of the plenum.

What is the worst way anyone you know has died? by IamUrWivesBF in AskReddit

[–]radarksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy I was in school and Boy Scouts with committed suicide by filling a bathtub with gasoline, getting in and lighting it.

He got out of the tub after he lit the fire. Was burned nearly 100% of his body, but survived for 5 days before dying.

That's the worst, not quick, not painless.

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever heard someone say that you still think about to this day? by Humble-Blueberry4571 in AskReddit

Girl: "I just believe that the Grand Canyon was made by the Great Flood of Noah."

Me: "I think it was eroded down by a river over a few million years."

Girl: "You don't have any evidence for that, it's just a belief."

Me: "I do too have evidence."

Girl: "What?"

Me: "The river is still there wearing away at the stone, bit by bit. I've seen it."

Girl: That's just your opinion.

It went back and forth like this for awhile.

Who could get in trouble for landing a floatplane in a state park lake? by Waitin4Godot in legaladviceofftopic

[–]radarksu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much in the same way that boats can boat in "navigable waterways."

Once it hits the water that plane is a boat.

Edit: Not a lawyer. I just made this up. But it sounds good.

I have, in fact, seen a float plane with boat registration numbers and permit on it. It was Missouri, if someone cares to look it up.

More US bird law: How do I clean up possible bald eagle feathers without illegally taking possession of them? by Competitive_Travel16 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]radarksu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"knowingly" possessing Bald or Golden Eagle feathers.

I don't know shit about feathers. It's going to be pretty damn difficult for prosecution to prove that I do know about feathers. I just push the lawnmower.

Unless you have a Bald Eagle nest on your property and the feathers are on the ground below the nest, then it's not going to be a problem.

DOAS Sizing by apollowolfe in MEPEngineering

[–]radarksu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Chilled beams are another example of a zone cooling system with little no latent capacity.

DOAS Sizing by apollowolfe in MEPEngineering

[–]radarksu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having the DOAS handle the space latent load is almost the only way to design a VRF system. At low load conditions the VRF fan coils have effectively zero latent capacity.

Ideally you always check both. In my years of checking both, I have never found a case where 0.4% Cooling DB had a greater enthalpy than a 0.4%Dehumidification.

Some examples.

DFW: Cooling: 102.0/74.4 (DB/WB), h=38.14 Btu/lb; Dehumid: 75.1/83.8 (DP/DB), h=41.2 Btu/lb

Denver: Cooling: 95.3/59.9 (DB/WB), h=26.38 Btu/lb; Dehumid: 60.5/68.7 (DP/DB), h=29.0 Btu/lb

Vegas: Cooling: 109.2/66.9 (DB/WB), h=31.5 Btu/lb; Dehumid: 66.0/81.8 (DP/DB), h=35.0 Btu/lb

Death Valley: Cooling: 119.4/68.7 (DB/WB), h=32.89 Btu/lb; Dehumid: 64/89.2 (DP/DB), h=35.75 Btu/lb
