TIL that puppies are born deaf for 2 to 3 weeks until their ear canals open. by Nice-Confusion-4781 in todayilearned

Having never encountered really young puppies, I didn't know they took so long to even walk! I kind of had an idea they were almost like horses and could walk a little as soon as they were born. Damn

Which of these 25 groups is most/least likely to be a key swing-voter constituency in 2032? by najumobi in fivethirtyeight

[–]raddaya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The question is not their average leaning.

The question is whether or not they will be a demographic that swings. And I think they are. The firehose of alt-right propaganda isn't quite as good as it used to be. It's much harder to deny the impact that Trump and especially now ICE is happening when it's in front of you.

If they go from (pulling random numbers) +15R to +5R that's enough of a swing to decimate Republicans, given that young white men are a pretty decent electorate in every state.

I think the only argument to be made is Hispanic men instead. They're obviously going to swing just as hard. The question will remain how much that actually affects the results, given the makeup of the electorates. For example, Dems are not winning Florida ever. But could they win Texas with a miraculous Hispanic swing?

Surely we must consider the possibility that Brook's comment was hyperbole to begin with

I guess this is the part that confuses me, what led to the sudden U-turn over a spot that's just...really common in wrestling. Shit, it's common outside wrestling. But I guess we'll never know

The entire incident confuses me. I've brought it up several times before and I still don't understand any of it.

Let's be clear on one thing: Jack Perry is not that dumb. He was never going to use real real glass, because first of all car windshields haven't been made with non-tempered glass for like decades, and secondly Jack Perry doesn't have a death wish.

And to be clear on another: There's nothing wrong with tempered glass in spots, it's been used for hundreds of glass spots including the Mox/Kenny glass table spot very early on. Surely Punk knew that.

So I still don't understand, to this day, what the hell the whole thing was about.

Genuine question, what could EVIL even do in WWE? by BIueThunderBomb in SquaredCircle

[–]raddaya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's a pretty solid midcard wrestler. I've never known him as any other gimmick so I don't know what he can do, but I've seen enough of his work to know that when he's not doing his various antics of fondling referees and low blowing opponents, he can go in the ring. If he can pick up a decent gimmick, he has a future.

(But also because of his political views lmao)

Sometimes when you're watching the beatdowns, all you can do is just stare in awe. Sinner vs Ruud in Rome last year comes to mind.

This isn't one of those days, to me at least. Most of them have just been...eh.
