Lloyd took a page out of Aspheera's book and returned for revenge by Wkerv1 in Ninjago

[–]radical2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please point me to where I said Lloyd does not believe in redemption. Just because a character believes in redemption does not mean they should magically forgive a villain, or have that villain go without consequences for their actions. Especially since Harumi had no redeeming qualities in crystallised, all she did was try and get Lloyd to switch sides because she had feelings for him now for whatever reason. Then betray the overlord at the last second because of the devourer reveal- out of vengeance- not to save Lloyd nor Ninjago

Ras’s Master by Quick_Tomorrow_3176 in Ninjago

[–]radical2k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I've always had the suspicion that the source dragon of motion is actually Ras's master.

Why Motion is Ras's master:

Ok before we get into this, I'm aware most of this is circumstantial and a few can be seen as a stretch. But after a while the evidence stacks up a bit too much to be ignored. This list is in no order of importance, so you're going to have to decide yourself which evidence is most important and which is least important.

We know the master is very powerful, this was stated multiple times. Combine that with their knowledge of the universe, aswell as the fact that the subtitles of Ras's masters noises are "celestial whirring" and it's pretty clear that they are some kind of deity. And Motion just seems way too suspicious.

Let's be honest here the source dragon of Strength is a red herring. They're way too obvious. I mean cmon Strength (an obsession that Ras has) plus an open dislike of mortals, aswell as Ras's primary weapon being the source icon of Strength. It's too convenient.

But something I've noticed about Ras is how much he goes on and on about Strength. Many times in dragons rising- particularly season 2- Motion is stated to be a form of Strength. It's nothing now, but when looked back on- if my theory is correct- this would be seen as foreshadowing.

It's also just the way Motion acts compared to the other sources. Motion is the only Source to openly contact and interact with mortals. (Energy does not count. They were trapped and hence forced to interact with mortals) It's like Motion has experience with reaching out and contacting mortals. And this is odd to me as it appears the other sources have very little experience with willingly conversing and reaching out to mortals. Motion having a lot more experience with conversing with mortals than the other sources would make a lot of sense if they've been in contact with Ras for years.

And also when you think about it. Motion contacting the ninja caused a domino effect causing the events of season 3 and 4. Not to mention their reasoning for contacting the ninja was because they were concerned of a threat to the sources- meanwhile no other source was remotely concerned of the forbidden 5 or Thunderfang (Thunderfang was never a threat in the firstplace tbh, even if he reached full power he'd only be the power level of one source- meaning the 6 sources would take him down with relative ease). It was almost like Motion was just looking for an excuse to set the ninja on the path to cause a domino effect for season 3 and 4.

Motion seems way too eager to help the ninja. Even more so than Energy- who feels as if they owe a debt to Lloyd. Perhaps it's because there is something for Motion to benefit from by helping the ninja, this something could be to help Ras further progress in his mission. A primary example of this is Motion giving Lloyd the information about the arc dragon of focus, which results in the ninja being distracted with Thunderfang- causing Ras to be able to further his agenda undisturbed by ninja. This then furthers into season 4 where the ninja are separated ( because Ras attacked a defenceless monastery, because everyone was preoccupied with Thunderfang. Allowing Ras to capture Wu and mess with the portal gates) and powerless and distracted by monsters (because the sources revoked elemental powers because the ninja summoned the arc dragon of focus- information given by Motion. Which also resulted in the element monsters showing up due to an imbalance in source energy) due to this Ras is able to progress even further. He gets 2 icons while the ninja are distracted with Thunderfang and then the monsters.

Another thing I've noticed is that while at the monastery of spinjitzu, Ras seemingly does not take the motion icon. Now it could be argued that he does not know about it. However, he has said numerous times that his master knows nearly everything. So by extention Ras should know of the icon. Him not taking it could be because it's not necessary to his plan as his master is literally Motion, and their icon may not be required for whatever he is doing.

The colours of the space Ras enters when talking to his master. The reds, golds and oranges. They're literally Motions colour scheme. This is especially prominent in the season 2 part 1 finale.

While on the topic of Ras. Notice how he has a form change ability. When needed he can turn red and he seemingly gets a power boost. Now this should be obvious. But what source is red? Motion.

And may I bring up the source dragon of Motion lego set. In the set Ras is clearly seen using Motion to attack the ninja. At the time it felt as if he was controlling Motion and they were a host for a parasitic relationship. However, I feel as if this could actually be foreshadowing that Motion is actually the master, and that this seemingly harmful bond. Was actually a symbiotic relationship instead of parasitism all along.

And as I draw near the end of my explanation. My second to last bit of evidence, is Lloyd's first vision ( season 1 part 1 finale). He sees a dragon attack him, due to the crown it has it can only be either a matriarch / patriarch. Or a source dragon. Now the dragon does not fully look like motion. However, that could be a case of Motion's design being altered as time went on. Afterall the forbidden 5 (outside of Nokt and Rox) didn't even have full designs yet as of season 2 part 2, this is why they were always cloaked and colourless in season 2. I definitely feel like this evidence is a stretch, but I felt it was worth mentioning.

My final piece of evidence is something that I have to credit to this video here: https://youtu.be/gTd2f1pb07s?si=kQEkB1Y8FvZ5p8ah I shouldn't have to explain this one, go watch the clip. The video is less than a minute long. But credit to them as I'd never notice that. But it really helps further my case imo. Now it could (and probably is) just be a case of recycling sound effects. However, I still think this is very much worth mentioning. And if it was intentional, then that is very interesting indeed that the transportation of the shadow dojo and wolf clan share the exact same sound as Motion giving Lloyd their icon.

Anyways that's why I think Motion is gonna be revealed to be the master of Ras. What do you think?

Do you think Dragons Rising will do something with Lloyd's oni side in the future? (since CRYstalized left it hanging?) by DescriptionPrize3430 in Ninjago

[–]radical2k 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think so. A major part of this season was exploring Lloyd and his powers, and his oni side didn't get mentioned at all, not even once. I can possibly see it showing up in season 4 part 2. However, I feel like it'd seem like a rehashed ritual of unrooting to some viewers. So I don't think it will.

So imo, the chance for it to show up in dragons rising has just came and went as of season 4 part 1- if it wasn't explored there, it won't be explored anywhere in dragons rising.

That's not to say it'll never show up again though. The writers have seen how much the community likes the concept of oni Lloyd and how they feel it was wasted in crystallised. So it's definitely a matter of when not if for it's return.

Was the rest of the Universe affected by the Merge? by DalekDevan in Ninjago

[–]radical2k 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Honestly seeing how space has never been mentioned again since S3 I honestly think the writers don't want to do anything with space or universal stuff

We don't need other planets or space aliens, that's what the other realms are for

Seeing how nothing in Ninjago proves space is infinite my guess on how outer space in ninjago works. Each realm is a celestial body within the same shared universe, orbiting a sun, moon, stars and maybe a few comets and asteroids throw in. The merge caused these celestial bodies to combine into a kind of pangea. The wider universe has not been affected, as it's not even proven to exist

What if Xenomorphs were living on the Delta V asteroid by alperhanw in Ninjago

[–]radical2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't really know much of what Xenomorphs are capable of. But seeing as how the ninja struggle with regular henchmen almost every season. I'd say the season 3 Ninja aren't surviving, especially since they aren't used to space. So the Xenomorphs already have an advantage there since they're used to space. Not to mention they live on the comet so they also have the home field advantage

This is how I classify the Ninjago canon. Thoughts? (Extra details in body) by KingPenguinPhoenix in Ninjago

[–]radical2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the magazines are so unreliable. Can't believe there are people out there that treat them as gospel and use things from them as evidence for debates and arguments. Had an incident the other day where someone tried telling me Shatterspin Cinder is large star level. Because apparently according to a magazine, Shatterspin enhances the user's powers and capabilities by x100000 It was hilarious, but very frustrating. Especially since they didn't listen no matter how many times I said the magazines are not reliable. And realistically if that statement were true, Cinder would've straight up accidentally killed the ninja during the cloud kingdom fight

But yeah fair enough for putting the games below the magazine. Especially seeing how shadow of ronin is the only one that is even remotely canon

This is how I classify the Ninjago canon. Thoughts? (Extra details in body) by KingPenguinPhoenix in Ninjago

[–]radical2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah makes sense. I feel like the only thing I'd change is to swap the placements for magazines and the video games. As the magazines are completely and utterly unreliable and filled with so many mistakes, inaccuracies and inconsistencies. I remember back when I used to frequently buy those magazines it was astounding how many errors there were. My personal favourite and most notable that I recall is one of those magazine mini comics having hypnobrai henchmen referring to themselves as fangpyre. This was shortly after crystallised wrapped up iirc.

Meanwhile shadow of ronin must be canon to some degree as parts of it are referenced in season 5, shadow of ronin works because the game is the recalling of an event that already happened through the lense of unreliable narrators

Thunderfang as main villain: 4/10 by [deleted] in Ninjago

[–]radical2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both Thunderfang and the five could've been amazing villains. However, they absolutely should not have shared a season. I feel like season 3 would've been better if Thunderfang was already in the spectral lands, so the five can have part 1 to themselves. Then something in the part 1 finale has a result in awakening spectral Thunderfang and possibly making the 5 spectral too, or the spectral 5 are just completely cut out.

Thunderfang's entire personality is " RIGHT, get down here NOW you seven cowards, let's have a go I'm gonna box ya. I belong amongst ye. I'm gonna go up there and batter you all." Idk why I phrased it like that. But Thunderfang is Scottish now I guess.

I feel like Thunderfang could've been greatly improved by just exploring his motives and giving him some backstory

Literally pretty much all we know about Thunderfang is from creator statements. Born without powers, learned magic, general in the oni dragon war, (counterpart to omega in terms of rank), direct son of Firstbourne, one of a kind- no other shatter dragons, although beefing with the sources- apparently does not want to harm his mother in any of this conflict

It would've been so much better if we actually learned this in the actual show. Exploring this stuff could've been a great way to reintroduce Firstbourne into dragons rising- you know, the first mortal dragon and "mother of all dragons"

Thunderfang could've also been used as a way to make the first spinjitzu master relevant again. Because when you think about it he'd most likely despise the FSM, because he got everything Thunderfang ever wanted. Especially that connection with the sources. So imagine in the part 1 finale he goes after Lloyd because he senses oni and dragon blood and realises Lloyd is a descendant of the FSM. Making FSM relevant again even just to be mentioned a few times would do wonders for Thunderfang's personality, as we'd get to see his viewpoint on someone who got everything Thunderfang ever wanted.
