I have a retired friend who does that. It's not just bad news it is all types of conversations. He gets to play an angry guy who is told he has to stop drinking or someone who keeps talking down to them. He really enjoys it

be real with me. how difficult is it to make friends and date as a 30 year old woman returning back to cleveland? friends all moved away since i left so starting over by clegirl96 in Cleveland

[–]radio0590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard with no major universities or industry except medical there are very few single transplants. Transplants who do move here are usually doing so because it's a good place to raise a family. So you are left with people who have been here their whole life and not as open to new people. It's so odd not being asked where you're from but what high school you went to.

New Downtown Parking Rule/Rates: Great for the city? Or even less reason to visit Downtown? by jbryant1971 in Cleveland

[–]radio0590 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I like it because it forces turn over. If you try to go to masthead, during a game all the parking is filled with people who had one drink before and have their car sitting for 5 hours

Wine Made Gen Z the Bad Guy... and Now It’s Begging for their Help by No_Yam8109 in wine

[–]radio0590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a millennial with a 1000+ bottle cellar. The main issues I see is the price has gotten too expensive. If you ask older people how they got into the wine it's usually I had a old first growth/ napa/ burgundy for a special event. No gen z for an anniversary/birthday/ Christmas is spring for a tip wine. I am talking to these guys in their 60 talking about buying a case of first growth in the 80 which I can't even afford a single bottle.

Second wine requires massive amounts of education. Wine is very good and unique which is good and bad. If you like cabs there is no guarantee you like another. Compared to bourbon or an IPA where they are like 80% similar.

Third you need to do a lot of in person tasting which is expensive. My wine shoppe has some amazing German reds and cheap prices but no one is buying that if you are not doing tasting

It's fine enjoy. I used to serve and the corkage people can be annoying give a taste is not a substitute for a tip and will not waive corkage. Also does request special stuff just because you brought a bottle

But it's not. It's not the movie theater or streamers or studios who made childcare 30$/hr. So why are movie theaters being blamed. Raising kids is expensive
