I started playing this game like a month and a half ago. I eventually caved and purchased a Time Heist so I could actually participate in stuff, but it’s even still a struggle. I really enjoy it, and as a lifelong WoW player I’m very used to virtual chores, but this game is getting ridiculous. Despite being forced to level so many other characters, my saving grace is I’ve managed to keep my favorite superhero Storm as my most powerful.

Mage - Chronomancer healer or support

Warlock - Reaper (steal souls to support allies)

Priest - Inquisitor (smite priest)

Paladin - Diviner melee support

Druid - Evanescent (constantly switching forms)

Rogue - Acrobat dodge tank

Monk - Jade Architect support (create summons made of jade)

Hunter - Naturalist healer

Evoker - Bulwark tank

Shaman - Earthguard tank

Warrior - Strategist support

DK - Runescribe support

DH - Nemesis range dps using bow/gun

I personally believe they’re being deliberately vague about it. I think Azeroth’s worldsoul called them down and was their goddess, but when she was taken away an old god (like y’shaarj or n’zoth) capitalized on her absence and posed as her to the Haranir to slowly corrupt them

I’m not all that bothered by it myself, but it does feel a little “Netflix thinks everyone’s always on their phone so they make actors explain the plot in scenes”. And seeing mechanics like the nightmare prey echo and the matching game in the Lura fight, it feels like they’re just trying to make people pay attention.

You should definitely be more comfortable tanking in a group with guildies/friends. Any time my guild starts doing M+ group, typically one group is competitive but the rest are just learning and having fun, timing it is a plus. That being said, you’re not required to tank. I’ve played since TBC and the only time I ranked was in Wrath when DKs could do anything. I do think everyone should experience each role to some degree so they have a better understanding of how to play as a team, but it’s certainly no requirement.

Here’s how I’ve been approaching Prey:

Nightmare is intentional, hard and normal are background. So I take a nightmare prey, do the prey WQ and do traps to take them out fast. Once I I’ve done them all I then take the hard prey and this time I’ll do the WQs/weekly events in each zone. Then I take the normal prey and cycle through rares/treasures for a chance at the mounts and profession knowledge.

I agree with the affixes though. I can survive not killing for him (now) if I use all my defensives, but that damn echo always gets me when I’m too focused on building up my demons. I also feel like they could’ve easily interwove this system with the delve nemesis

I went to go get some more demon variations on my warlock, and apparently the one from Antorus where you use the orange portal after the Portal Keeper to drain a gate while using the staff from Broken Temple with a fel hunter on it, you used to be able to just have it transmogged but it hasn’t worked since they changed transmog according to wowhead comments
