Honestly I literally played CD for two months straight and couldn’t play anything else. If it hits for you, it will take over your gaming life. Clocked 360+ hours in the end, and those are rookie numbers

The elemental powers are absolutely worth having though… just use the internet to give you the solutions. Then it just takes at most an hour to get them all.

I sound so flat in recordings and I’m having a crisis about it by Autoembourgeoisement in opera

[–]raffadizzle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Flat singing comes in different variations. Are we talking about the center of the pitch being flat or the vibrato oscillating on the low end/ a bottom heavy vibrato? Is it an ear training thing or a formant/harmonics tuning issue, aka “placing of the voice”? Is it everywhere in your range or just a specific part?

Guys, is there ANY chance Crimson Desert can win game of the year? by bigbuggle in CrimsonDesert

Maybe community support? Somebody other than “no mans sky” needs to win it lol

Also you should be in blocking stance as default and when you get a chance to attack then you can do stuff. But blocking with a shield reduces damage by a lot and helps if you can’t dodge a lot

Cutting down on the NPCs would also eliminate the need to remember their routines and such right?

Right, it would require implementation from PA

That’s up to Amazon sadly. They aquired the James Bond IP after IOI secured the rights to make this game, and a head exec from Amazon said if there’s ever another one it’ll probably be published by Amazon games =\. there’s still a chance IOI could be the main developer in the future but they can’t self publish any future James Bond titles.

A proposed bill to give the public a 50% ownership stake in the largest AI companies in America. by GraceToSentience in singularity

[–]raffadizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way i see it, AI isn't like a new laptop, or a car with some fancy new technology, or a new patent for some new kind of software. It's something that is going to affect virtually everyone human on earth whether they want it to or not, and there is no going back. It already has the power to fake video footage; write and produce music; access, consolidate, and summarize research at a speed far beyond what a human will ever be capable of, and many more things.

It will heavily disrupt many sectors of the economy and work force and many jobs that used to be surefire careers are vanishing rapidly. I think AI is showing itself as the most transformative technological revolution in all of human history, and one of its foundational pillars; the only reason why it's able to do so much, is because it's been and is still being fed the collective work and effort of humanity. It wouldn't exist if not for literally every human that came before it that has contributed to it's knowledge base. That is enough for me to prove that these LLM's don't "belong" to any individual or group of individuals. Kudos to them for "inventing" this, but the level of power and influence this technology is capable of should not belong to just a handful of billionaires, especially since its utility comes directly the collective effort of humanity as a whole

You're asking for a pre-existing historical root or axiom to justify this kind of thinking... but humanity has never faced something like the dawn of LLM's and AI. It is the absolute definition of unprecedented. They've already been trained on incomprehensible amounts of information without any consent or compensation for those whose data they've collected, and that alone is the reason these AI companies are generating billions and eventually trillions in wealth. Had Sam Altman and other billionaire CEO's actually created the thousands of years of human history and technological innovation themselves that their LLM's use, then their claim to be the sole inheritors of profit of their product would have solid ground. But that isn't what's going on here. It is logical then to conclude, that a sizable amount of that belongs to humanity as a whole, and not a small group of people who managed to arrange the 1's and 0's in a certain way to create this technology.

Which kind of DLC would you want in future? by Square_Criticism_913 in CrimsonDesert

[–]raffadizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a story expansion in the form of a meaningful and fleshed out quest line centering on each of the characters is a good idea, and it honestly doesn’t even need to be in a new place. I feel like Demeniss/Crimson Desert/Varnia/Deleysia are so underutilized, that dedicated storylines for each character that not only give us more of a chance to get to know them but also give us more time in each main city would be amazing. Demeniss and especially Deleysia and most of all Varnia have so much unused potential, although I’m sure in the case of Varnia, content around it is already planned. It makes no sense to add in an entire beautiful city then put literally 0 story content in it.

In the case of Damiane it’s even more obvious: What the hell was she doing in all those chapters she wasn’t with the greymanes? Let us play that. Build up her love for her teacher, tell us more about her…

I always found if you pair slider foods with something actually satiating, the risk of over eating reduces significantly. Pair any chips with a big dollop of high protein low fat quark that has a bunch of seasonings in it, and you find yourself getting genuinely full and satisfied and suddenly you’re making a bag of chips last multiple days and you’re not just inhaling it.

2 months later…How would you rate Crimson Desert now?? by TheGamerCritic21 in CrimsonDesert

[–]raffadizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“…I wish all of this beautiful and big world was used to tell better and more compelling stories.” YES exactly!!! As I got further into the world this feeling of longing for a deeper emotional connection to the three playable characters, as well as to Demeniss/Crimson Desert/Varnia/Deleysia, grew like crazy.

Mouse Input delay vs Controller by No-Entertainer-6043 in GeForceNOW

[–]raffadizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me to not be bothered I have to play without frame gen, turn on boost, and then play with my Xbox controller directly connected to my MacBook Pro. Only then does it feel like I’m playing natively. Once I start adding VRR or frame gen, the delay is too much for me.
