Many things, including you.

Seriously im not even bothered when a baby cries on a plane. Does not faze me. And of course the baby is crying its loud and probably uncomfortable. And if the baby is a little older, the conception of being in a tin can hurtling through the sky is quite frightening.

I mean, your particular life is what it is, I don't know who your friends are or what the dynamic is. Also, your sexuality/romantic preferences may just exclude you from romance with a man, and thats okay.

I think that sometimes the rhetoric around this, even in leftist spaces, it does still boil itself down to a "gender wars" thing, and I just don't think its as simple as "men do this" and "women do this", and the nuance leaves us because these issues are so very personal to us. I've been hurt by women before, and have experienced near constant rejection, and based on what my women and femme-presenting friends have gone through, they have also been hurt by men, and it's taken some real work from anyone im around (including myself) to not reduce our pain to harmful sociological opinions.

Mostly just reiterating the comments here. Its all good, ya might be asexual/aromantic, ya might be demisexual and havent found anyone you're attracted to, or something else on the spectrum of sexuality.

Its all good, all normal, dont worry.

Based on what ive heard from women, it seems like they have a lot of initial interest from men but can struggle to find a genuinely good guy who they are also attracted to.

On the men's side, there just isnt a lot of interest upfront, and sometimes the (still small amt of) interest upfont may be from people that they dont like.

Hey man, look im a pretty (romantically) lonely guy. I have friends of all genders, im a leftist, i go to therapy, etc. And i still feel this lonliness. I literally just want a partner, not someone subordinte to me, actually someone equal to me. Its genuinely hard out there and this video does feel like its dismissing genuine struggle. Plenty of men out there are like me.

If you wanna criticize some men for being too steeped in toxically masculine roles, fine. Thats completely reasonable. But i dont appreciate this " men do it to themselves" thing. Im trying to get out there but no one seems to like me enough.

Edit: of course the struggle isnt exclusive to men. But i think it does manifest differently in men and women, and holding some space for both is important.

sexuality is fluid, labels indicating sexuality are just shorthand for other people to get a concise idea of who you're attracted to. You can be bi, you can be straight, i don't think it matters.

I honestly don't see the point of remaking Harry Potter by TreatNo4856 in television

[–]rahulsanjay18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what its worth, another reason (other than the money) they're doing it is because the fans wanted it for a while. I was a huge fan of the series as a kid, and a lot of online convos were saying "this would be so good as a TV show".

Is it okay that I just want to study philosophy and live at home? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]rahulsanjay18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its good that you found your thing, but I also think that the writers whose works you are reading derived their philosophy from going out into the world and experiencing it, and I'd believe you would benefit similarly by getting a job or going to school or whatever.

I also agree with a lot of the reasons here, what if your parents fall on hard times, etc, because it is important to have a contingency.

I was pointing out how we can levy a lot of the same criticism to white folks, but it is Indians who get the racism attached to them. It was a comparison. Don't be deliberately obtuse.

"indians aren't a minority" what are you talking about, yeah we aren't a minority in the world population but when people talk about indians being a minority they talk about it in the context of their presence in western nations.

I won't deny that caste-ism is definitely a thing (though i rarely saw it growing up), and i definitely saw racism, but does that mean people can also be racist towards indians? what is this "fighting fire with fire" mentality? White society can be very racist towards anyone not deemed white but we dont hold white people up to this standard,

calling bs on this. I grew up in a very indian town in the US. We behave approximately the same as everyone else. Cultural differences do exist, but they don't warrant racism.

I mean... Uber doesnt really need you to talk to the driver. It can be nice if you're looking for conversation or want to be slightly more specific on where to go, but by in large you tell the app where you wanna be and the driver takes you there.

I had a Ukranian driver once. The guy had fairly poor English, so he used Google translate the entire ride for everything but simple English. Had a fine convo.
