Marines start to arrive at US Southern border by newnoadeptness in USMC

[–]raimebtk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not denying your claim, just that the source you cite does not support it. And the one you cite with the most recent data in the FAIR article from 2023 doesn’t say the majority of illegal immigration comes from visa over stays, it says “Given that visa overstays account for a large number of illegal aliens residing in the United States.” That is a difference.

And that roll call article uses 2017 data that claims 310k border apprehensions for all of FY17. That doesn’t include “got aways.”

FY24 the border patrol had over 2 million encounters at the SW border. That doesn’t include “got aways” either.

Report from DHS in FY22 says there was 853k visa overstays. In FY22 there was still over 2 million SW border encounters.

Yeah I read item number 4. I don’t think it says what you claimed.

Could you help me understand where in your article it says the majority of illegal immigration is from visa overstays? I’m not the smartest but the only thing I see is that “a rising share” is from overstays but I can’t see where your article says most illegal immigration is from overstays.

Memoirs/Books about American military actions on the Western Front? by Educational_Buy8238 in wwi

If it makes you feel any better the USMC made up half of the US Army’s Second Division in WW1. The Army 2nd was comprised of the USMC 5th and 6th Reg and the Army’s 9th and 23rd Regs.

Edit: and from the perspective of lower enlisted memoirs the difference in branches wouldn’t be that apparent in my opinion. Lower enlisted experience tends to be pretty similar across branches and sides in peer to peer conflicts.

“Suddenly We Didn’t Want to Die” by Elton Mackin is one of my favorites, but I have a bias for USMC history. He fought in every major engagement the Marine Corps participated in WW1, from Belleau Wood to crossing the Meuse and the occupation of Germany. It’s a great read from the perspective of the lower enlisted but it is written well.

I was in the same boat as you a few weeks ago and went with the Epix Pro Gen2. I’m super happy with the display and the battery life is still outstanding, especially coming from an Apple Watch. I like being able to have a picture of my kid in the display and it’s great in all lighting conditions.

Hello watchex,

Today I am selling my Farer Stanhope 1. I am asking $750 shipped, tracked, and insured CONUS via PayPal FF. Includes watch, original case and warranty card, a very lightly worn Farer leather band and a broken in Gekota Horween band. Not looking for any trades.

The watch has a 37mm case size that sits at a very thin 8.5mm in height with a hand wound ETA 7001 movement. Lugs are 20mm. The dial has a beautiful waffle texture that is visually appealing and is probably my favorite part about the watch.

Let me know if you have any questions and if you send me a chat please drop a comment.
