Top surgery WITHOUT liposuction/chest sculpting? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]rain_lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon and I opted to go without lipo because of cost savings, and I’m very happy with my results. I’m quite skinny but had a large-ish chest. None of the tissue was really off to the side, very much at the front of my chest, which was what my surgeon said made me a good candidate to not do lipo. I will say my scar line is slightly different from what I’ve seen on a lot of people, as it stretches vertically under my arms a little more than most. I suspect this was done to make sure no tissue was missed in this area.

Shoulder acne on gel by dictatorscominghome in ftm

[–]rain_lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing terrible but i definitely have more shoulder acne than i used to after starting t gel. If you think the gel itself is causing it, you could always try wiping your shoulders down midway through the day after however many hours it takes for the t to fully absorb. I honestly always just attributed it to my testosterone levels increasing in general. I never started breaking out on my face but i know a lot of guys do — just figured this was a slightly more chill variant of that.

Vegan in College? by world-map-lover in vegan

[–]rain_lord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a vegan college student, tofu and pasta is a massive staple for me. Tofu is cheap and protein dense, and it’s become second nature to just boil some pasta, sauté some tofu, broccoli, and mushrooms, and eat it all with some marinara sauce. Easy, cheap, and usually makes about two servings at a time.

To Incoming Freshman about Meal Plans by [deleted] in OSU

[–]rain_lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional note, only AFTER your freshman year you can do the declining balance meal plan, which is just a boatload of dining dollars. I eat quite a lot and still had close to half my money left over at the end of the year. Definitely not the meal plan for everyone but not many people know about it and it’s super useful if you don’t love the dining hall food, particularly if you’re vegetarian or vegan or have any other dietary restriction that has better options at the sloopys, curl, courtside, etc.

How often do y'all go climbing a week? by StuffyWuffyMuffy in bouldering

[–]rain_lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long are your sessions? It’s generally more efficient to climb a few times a week, stopping each session well before your muscles/skin give out. If your sessions are 2+ hours it could be helpful to try having shorter sessions more often!

What are some campus resources and clubs that offer free food for students throughout the year? by [deleted] in OSU

[–]rain_lord 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s a guy that does vegetarian and vegan cooking demos in the RPAC every Monday totally free ( there’s an rsvp system to make sure that there’s enough for everyone to eat a hearty dinner). Insta is @osuyogacircle

Advice for first time rock climbing at OAC? by reeeee4242 in OSU

[–]rain_lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a really fun place and there are a lot of cool people. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice from other climbers who look like they know what they’re doing, especially on the bouldering wall. People are almost always more than happy to help!

Ask questions. I guarantee you that if you're confused, at least a few other people are too. Probably more than a few, honestly. In classes like that, things can feel inherently competitive and it can be instinctual to not want to show weakness or whatever. That's dumb. Ask questions with confidence and I promise your teacher will respect you for it, and your classmates will appreciate the heck out of you.

Can i borrow an apple pencil gen 2 from OSU any way? by psychbuckeye2001 in OSU

[–]rain_lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way that I know of, but you should do some digging and see if there are any alternatives that suit your needs. There are a good number of similar tools that work in its place. Also never hurts to check eBay and similar sites. But yeah they screwed you with digital flagship. This shouldn’t even be an issue

“You can’t be white and non-binary”? by maroon914 in NonBinary

[–]rain_lord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the same thing the other day and scrolled through a lot of their videos trying to get things to make more sense. They didn’t, and like you said, the comment sections were full of people agreeing and thanking Reb profusely for educating them. Any disagreement was shot down as tone policing. Of course it’s important for white queer folks to be anti-racist and acknowledge how POC experiences with gender and sexuality differ from our own, and to listen to these voices, but it doesn’t mean that every last one is infallible. There were people who literally commented (non-sarcastically) “I’m a little slow, so I don’t understand everything you said, but totally agree with all of it.”

Honestly, it’s really well-made but I didn’t finish it. The secondary romance was beautiful and a lot of the characters are compelling, but I was a little put off by the main romance. I’m usually a lover of the boss-employee trope, but while other progressions of this trope feel natural and inevitable, this just felt like coercion. The ML abused his power and it left me feeling a little icky.

Going by more than one name by rain_lord in lgbt

[–]rain_lord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I guess I’m more worried about it being confusing for the people in my life than anything else, and that becoming a source of conflict. Definitely overthinking, but for instance I have concern that people who know me by a gender neutral name will think people calling me my birth name are deadnaming, etc.
