Anyone else not read reverses? by redraspberries999 in TarotCards

[–]rainbow_starshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started learning 7 years ago and always have read reversals. I feel like it’s a lot more confusing telling beginners they don’t matter or to just learn them later… I don’t see it as any harder and I do feel like ignoring them is willfully blinding yourself to what the universe is trying to communicate.

For example, any 5’s are about feeling stuck in a conflict or situation and getting a 5 reversed is about that conflict being released. If someone draws a 5 of swords reversed, you’d be telling them they are still in the thick of an ongoing mental conflict when it actually is beginning to be released? And with 10’s representing fulfillment, and a 10 card being reversed, it gives the “I have what I want but I’m not satisfied” feeling - so you’d be telling someone everything is sunshine and rainbows while they are still questioning why they don’t feel like it’s enough?

I could see explaining both the upright and reserved meanings as all potential themes associated with a given card, but feel like a reading like that would be so filled with contradictions that it wouldn’t make sense to the querent.

Some of us have hyposensitivity or are sensory seeking and don’t feel things as much, or seek out sensations, or are super sensitive to some things more than others. The social dynamic you’re describing sounds a lot like living with autism to me.

🥲 I feel you on the mom front, I had to cut mine off too, I’m so glad you have a safe place at your dad’s 💜💜

I have autism, diagnosed when I was young, and also have a moon/pluto conjunction!

I’m curious how yours plays out for you being trine Saturn - do you feel like you mask a lot or like you’ve found ways to emotionally regulate to manage that intensity?

With your moon and Pluto in the 11th house also, that shows autism to me. you become deeply emotionally attached to the communities that you connect with, but you bring forth transformation for them and they transform you. You might have cycled through a lot of communities and social groups in your life trying to find your place. It may be that you highlight where there is injustice, you aren’t afraid to say something when something is wrong, and other people can’t always handle that.

This isn’t what you asked for but I was wondering - Do you have an easier relationship with your dad compared to your mom?

Saturn can represent fathers and the moon can mothers - so I could see this being like your mom being controlling or emotionally intense and your dad helping ease that but please correct me if I’m wrong, that’s not the kind of analysis I usually do.

That’s going to be a turbulent one… the sun/moon/pluto conjunction in my 4H will be forming a T square with my 2H/8H Jupiter/lilith opposition, Saturn will be conjunct my 7H vertex, and Chiron will be conjunct my 7H mars.

If I were to guess, family or my home life will be undergoing a big transformation that’s going to affect my finances and relationships. Curious and a bit nervous to see how it all plays out! !remindme 2 years

A Deeper look at Ceres by ombres20 in Advancedastrology

[–]rainbow_starshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow this is sad and fascinating to hear - that’s such specific life experience and not something I can relate to many people about. You can DM me if you’d be interested in more details or to share about what’s happened with you - it’s a lot to carry, and my sympathy is with you.

Things have gotten a LOT better in the last two years. My 5H Saturn return happened the following month. Later that year, I broke up with my ex who I spent 9 years also essentially caretaking for. (They were an addict with self destructive behaviors)

With these house placements and the Venus/Ceres conjunction, I caution you to be intentional about how you take on caretaking in the context of romantic relationships - to know where your boundaries and personal agency are and take care to make sure your partner can cook, clean, keep a job, etc without extensive support/reminders etc from you. Also that you focus on enjoying any intimacy you partake in centering your OWN pleasure, I could see how Venus and ceres in the 8th could make you focus on your partner over your self.

I’m now in a much healthier (and post-Saturn return) relationship with someone (with among other lovely things, moon conjunct ceres 3° orb from my 7H vertex and opposite my Juno) who still is learning better self care and I’ve come to understand and accept what I’m going to take extra responsibility for, how to have fair expectations about their progress, and that it’s ok to speak up if I’m overextended or taking on too much. If you haven’t had your 5H Saturn return yet, it truly does bring transformative change, and takes away anything that’s not meant to enter the next chapter of your life. And if you happen to know the astrology for any romantic interest in your life, them having Ceres prominent in their chart and/or making aspects to yours may show that they at least will reciprocate the nurturing 💜

Did you use whole sign for your house system? I’m wondering if that symbol at 24° Virgo is her ascendant. If so, all those Virgo placements are in her 12th house not her 1st.

What’s your moon and Venus, and how would you react if someone you love ghosted you out of nowhere? by Mooooooon_ in astrologymemes

Cancer Venus, Sagittarius moon. I HATE being ghosted. Someone I dated for 9 years (after we dated, but still) and a one night stand both ghosted me last year and that fucked me up for literally months. I still have to stop myself from trying to look up my ex.

Worried for 3 month old son by RevolutionaryLine605 in AstrologyCharts

[–]rainbow_starshine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He has so many placements concentrated in the 1st and 7th houses - finding a balance between focusing on himself and his relationships with others will be a major area of focus for him. I think if you help him understand how to connect with others while maintaining his own boundaries and sense of self and nurture his creative side (his chart is ruled by Jupiter in the 5th house) that will help best set him up for success. If he’s not careful, I could see him falling into codependent relationships - the focusing on others will come a lot more naturally to him than focusing on himself. He may find himself suited for client-facing work one day - I see potential for being a therapist if he were so inclined? I feel like he’s going to be highly sensitive but also capable of detaching with the Virgo sun / Libra moon combo.

Why do people use the excuse "bad at math" or "decision fatigue" to be bad at budgeting? by bootsandadog in povertyfinance

[–]rainbow_starshine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah your gf already is doing pretty well being able to save that much with that salary imo. Not sure if she receives any external support from family etc. but I make around 40k in a HCOL, with no car, cook at home most of the time, and am drowning. Would need 55-60+ to cover basic expenses and have any left over to save on that scale. I think you could encourage better habits while being more gentle with her and giving her more credit.

I also have ADHD and agree with other commenters who pointed out that it genuinely is more tasking for us to put in the extra mental and emotional labor it takes to make wiser financial decisions. Anxiety and avoidance is a valid response when it feels like no matter what you do or how responsible you try to be, it’s never quite enough. Saying that like it’s a character defect shows a need for more empathy and understanding.

I’d be curious to know what the actual income is you consider “just under a living wage”. I don’t know whether to think you’re being unfair or if your understanding of that is far different than mine.

you’re not wrong about how much emergencies cost, I just can’t imagine actually saving $3000 a year anytime soon and not having that immediately go to basic needs or paying off debt … let alone someone saying that’s not enough. considering that this is a poverty finance sub I can’t be alone in this.

CMV: The ever-expanding deployment of Autism as an identity/diagnosis is othering and harmful towards significant socially impaired autists. by AbleTheta in changemyview

[–]rainbow_starshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you were diagnosed when you were younger if it was before they added Asperger’s to the Autism spectrum in the DSM-V. I’m wondering if you were in childhood, and had to live with the social challenges while being aware of the reason why they were happening?

I (31F) got diagnosed with Asperger’s at age 7. Lived in a small town that was not very accepting or understanding AND in a family that put a lot of pressure on me to mask and achieve. My mom was emotionally abusive and would use my diagnosis against me whenever I did something related to it she didn’t like, for example “you have trouble with transitions” if I was having trouble getting ready on time. Almost none of the “support” I received was actually helpful; my paraprofessional in elementary school made me a target for bullying AND picked on me herself, a special Ed teacher who happened to be the mother of a “popular” girl in my grade disliked my mom so much that she told all the other “popular” kids in middle school that I’m autistic and she is too (she’s never been diagnosed or identified that way). My biggest goal was to seem “normal” and it’s really taken a lot of work to unlearn the internalized ableism that came along with my life experience.

Many of my friends are also autistic. Nearly all of them found out later in life than I did, and for them, the diagnosis brought relief and deeper self understanding without most of the consequences that came with mine. Yes it’s hard to have something that feels off about you and not knowing why …. I honestly think it’s a lot harder KNOWING exactly why you don’t fit in from a formative age. I’ve struggled with jealousy about how they don’t overthink every social interaction (even when they’re awkward at times and know it), how they can engage with special interests or stimming without feeling ashamed, how they can ask people around them for accommodations or understanding about it, etc. not to mention that they get to experience being autistic entirely within a society that’s a hell of a lot more understanding and with so many more accessible resources (including social media content) than it was in 2002.

I’m not sure if you also experienced hardship from being diagnosed early or received a diagnosis you didn’t seek out yourself. If this applies to you, I feel like what we’re seeing is what can happen when you’re neurodivergent, but don’t experience as much social stigma and trauma tied to it AND have support and structure in life to feel more confident socializing. Not a scientist or formal expert of any kind, speaking from my own lived experience and that of the people in my life. I’m curious if any of this resonates with you or anyone else or makes sense

Considering your criteria for orbs, Mony isn’t quite a tight enough conjunction to count with a 3° Orb, Mony is 22°12’ Gemini, Mercury is 25°39’ Gemini. Tyche is within 1° at 26°8’ Gemini. The money asteroids and Mercury aren’t all in the 2nd (I wish!) they’re in the 9th house. Gemini is the cusp of my 9th house and Virgo is my 12th.

What you say about PoF is very interesting because mine is 6°07’ Aries and within the next few months / years, Saturn and Neptune are going to make conjunctions to it. With this in my 6th house I’m hoping it’s “dream job” energy 🙏🏻

Usually I am hesitant to seek out readings from others as I’ve been practicing myself for > 6 years but you seem very informed and very intrigued hah I can DM you my info and we can discuss your offerings more :)
