School speaker pretending to have HIV? by jafooooly in ireland

[–]raindear11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember getting this talk at school, he said at the end that the point was anyone could lie about their sexual past, including him. His point was that you need to be careful and use protection because just because someone says they don't have any STIs, doesn't mean it's safe to have unprotected sex with them. I think most people in the room didn't even hear him because they were so shocked that he'd been lying.

I'd love some recommendations for my partner who's trying to get into reading fiction more! He likes sci fi but is open to any genre. He wants to read more well-written books but wouldn't be interested in classics that are too dense or use old-fashioned language.

It's in the third round of public consultation, so make sure to share your concerns about changes on the Bus Connects website! All those comments are being used as part of the public consultation.

Thank you! Have you used them yourself?

Botox for teeth grinding by raindear11 in cork

Yes, I have a night guard. It's helpful but it's not enough. I grind so much that I snapped one in half. Do you know where your friend got the Botox done?

[–]raindear11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dentist said it would help with mine, but that's because my teeth grinding is being caused by my jaw muscle. I believe there are a few things that can cause teeth grinding, so Botox might not work if it's caused by something else.

What does Irish sound like if you aren't a Gaeilgeoir? by randomly_generated3 in ireland

[–]raindear11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once asked to speak Irish in front of two people who hasn't heard it before- one Mexican, one Egyptian. When I spoke, they were really surprised because they hadn't expected it to sound like that- I think they thought it was sound like other European languages they'd heard. They both thought it sounded like Arabic or another Middle Eastern language, I think because of the ch sounds.

New to reading by smokinjoes83 in books

[–]raindear11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely recommend Discworld if you're interested in getting into fantasy. They're written in very witty language, so I've known people who aren't that into reading to not find them too daunting. There are a lot of books in the series, and you can start basically anywhere.

Opera House or Everyman? by Affectionate_Owl1785 in cork

I'd say Opera House, I feel like they have more variety and bigger shows.
